Not sure which "lever bolts" you are referring to. If its the red ball on the top of my Aloris QCTP, or the one with the black ball to lock the carriage ... yes, I made both of those. John, pretty sure thats been restamped. Monarch never put all that info in the bed stamp ... just "EE 15178" with the numbers the same size as the double-E's. The bed was likely ground at some point and whoever did it had the good sense to at least stamp the serial back on. I have pictures of...- Nightshift

You are over-complicating this talking about phase converters and VFDs. 1 hp motors are a dime a dozen. I would not spend $150-300 on a VFD when you can just throw that 3-phase one in the trash and buy a good used 1 HP single phase motor for $50. I'm just thinking out loud ... I hope you have a plastic cover or something to protect that VFD which appears to be mounted behind the chuck. If you use any kind of cutting oil or lube when threading, parting, etc, it's gonna fling crap all over that delicate electronic piece. Why not mount it...- Nightshift

Darex M5 1.125" Chuck
If anyone has the large chuck (model #4250) for a Darex M5 drill sharpener, I'd like to buy it. It's the one that handles drills from 3/4" thru 1-1/8". Looks similar to my 1/2"-3/4" chuck here but with a larger hole. Cheers, Bill- Nightshift

Mine has it. I think it's simply a shoulder bolt that acts as a stopper which the knee will contact when in the fully down or fully up position so the screw doesn't bottom out on either end. I'm going from memory as I'm in FL right now. Bill- Nightshift

No I think I can see how you did it ... run the cable around 2 pulleys mounted at the top of the base casting front and back. Then thread the cable thru the ram dovetail hole there and attach a weight to the rear side of the base. What are u using for a weight? I've got a 12" handwheel I use...- Nightshift

I really like your counterbalanced knee solution! I think I will add that to mine while I wait for a power Z solution as this will make the cranking much easier I would suspect.
