CNC Shaping Circle Out of Round

I was being facetious, it would be a giant waste of money to hire one out. and there's not a very good way to do one at home. Do a circle, diamond, square test. Here's a link to a Renishaw white paper on it- Renishaw C/D/S test

    quality mid-low cost 2K paint

Yes. Finding an SW shop that also dealt in industrial coatings was a game changer. I still have some Macropoxy646, but after 6 years it's probably junk.

Chaining through a D ring? Basket or Choke?

Call a rigging house and ask, you don't need to tell them you already own the slings. Just say- 'Hey, I wanna lift X load, it needs to use Y leg length at Z angle to meet space req's and it is for OH lift. Could you spec me a sling to meet those needs?' I wish I could be more helpful, done...

    Selecting iron for brake drums

That is 90% of all my shop does, make niche components for niche markets.

Chaining through a D ring? Basket or Choke?

Do you have a budget? Thing seems like a good place to use something like a Crosby Eliminator with sling hooks. Consult with your local rigging house to select sizing based on your load and sling angles.

    Eastwood QST 30/60 air compressor

I briefly worked for a company doing frac work and when I was there a guy burned down a row of pumps kind of like that- he tried to change an oil filter with the engine running. When he got the filter loose it sprayed oil onto the turbo of an adjacent unit, and the fire was on!

    Thread milling Gr5 Titanium

That is probably worth some experimentation.

    Thread milling Gr5 Titanium

Using cups with a lid and making the hole just large enough for the tool to enter will help retain fluids through sloshing. Be sure to properly restrain the cup so that it stays on location. EDIT- I suppose you could also make up something like the lid of a to-go cup, where the precut flaps...

    Solid Cam

That is the largest driving factor here.

Easiest way to move a forklift 40 miles?

Ran into that recently. Our solution was to pull the forks and drive over them to distribute the load of the front axle, pulling up just enough to land the rear axle over a crossmember. It took some T&E, but we got the truck over the trailer axles for good tongue weight while distributing the...

Should I mess with manufacturer recommended feeds and speeds?

Totally tangent- but that's what it sucks that college textbooks are so damn expensive. Newtonian physics, and all the engineering work derived from it, hasn't changed in quite a while, but by God you'd better have the latest textbook.... for $350.

CNC Shaping Circle Out of Round

With Mach4 as your control I'm guessing this is a home-brew machine and that the error is in your motor tuning or in the machine itself. The best solution would be to have it ball bar tested, that should highlight any issues you have.

    Solid Cam

2.5d Standard and SW parts and assemblies is $6495. 2.5d Pro os $9595. I really want to make that jump, but that's more than a decade of Fusion renewals. :/

I bet you're correct. Digging back in my brain that rings a bell.

Can you have some of the material sticking out of back of cnc lathe?

This above is a reminder that adequate training really does save lives. The affected zone of this incident and the one I posted are small but very important to avoid when the spindle is turning.

    Moving a 400 ton bridge

Any idea what they're rated for? Mine in low range would crawl, as in dump the clutch at idle and barely dip the rpm.

    Moving a 400 ton bridge

My first truck, in 2002, was '90 hardbody. 4cyl, manual everything but it was 4wd. The engine wasn't strong enough to hurt the driveline and it sat up nice on 31's. I had sooooo much damn fun in that pickup, probably some of the best memories of my life.

Daaammnnn, never seen a Hardbody with clearance lights.
