Schaublin 135 - Help upgrading electrical system

Bruce and Mark! The blue thingy is most likely a selenium rectifier, (antiquated.) It may very likely be defective, and can easily be replaced by a (modern) silicon rectifier. Ole

He's also searching for a manual... I think I might have one: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AixuXkj7rT9JgYlJbOZOeucMQa5cfg?e=izP4Ut There are 4 different manuals for different years in this directory. Og Karl Willy: Sett inn hvor du bor i opplysningene om deg, så blir det lettere å forstå for andre at du...

Aciera F4 (round head) Gear oil recommendations and drawings?

Btcc: This factory went out of business many years ago, the last I heard was that the remainders was sold to Indonesia. Parts are hard to get by! You need to make them, or pillage a corpse. Good luck! Ole

Marc! You have done a great job here! Re. the speed change: The wheel to the right of the front of the way casting is the speed switch limiter. Remember that the spindle engine has a 1:4 speed ratio! The wheel has several positions to limit the throw of the speed lever so that you don't...

The posts are displaying well in the new format, and I must say you take nice pictures! The spindle bearings are lubed with circulating oil from the tank. Take care to clean out the oil lines and the mesh screen in the reservoir. Good luck! Ole

Marc! .003 undercut of the black infill below the poles seems to be right (the manual says .002 to .004). Nice job! I think the bushes should be delrin to avoid clatter and noise. Ole

Marc: Regarding the brake: It is fed DC voltage from a rectifier via an adjustable serial resistor. They all look scorched on the braking surface, but may work perfectly nevertheless. The brake is very nice to have when you are threading against a stop. I made new bushes from delrin, as mine...

From left to right there is the plunger with a threaded hole for the spindle, with a screw in the oval hole preventing it from rotating, and then the threaded spinle running over to the right side. In this end a bearing block is threaded into the right end of the assembly , and a needle bearing...

Aha - now I understand. Sorry, you will probably need someting like the original parts or similar. You might of course also just knock the cones out from the rear with a copper drift. Have you found the relevant drawing? Ole

Are you missing parts? Does your starwheel tailstock quill look like mine, with the hex key attached with a small setscrew in the right end? If the key is there, but nothing happens when you turn it anticlockwise to eject the taper - the problem may be that you have a short MK 2 to 5 adapter...

The ejector in the starwheel tailstock is the inhex hole in the far right end of the spindle, see picture. There is supposed to be a hex key permanently mounted there, like in mine. Anticlockwise to eject.

Marc! Re. the toolholder: I have the Multifix E, being in size between A and B. Nevertheless I have milled some millimeters off the top slide to make the height fit better. In the 70-ies the Multifix E was not in the program. The 135 was optioned wih Tripan 200 or Multifix B. There was a fitted...

Marc! The spacers are 9,5mm. Notice the orientation of the cams. Left and right are different, and they contact the 2 wheels on the plungers under the apron. If the rail was removed there may be something wrong with these plungers or the corresponding mechanism inside. The rail and the stops...
