A Problem with my Starrett mics.
Just to chime in here. I disassemble and clean ALL my mics regularly. Usually an acetone bath and a a trip thru the vaper degreaser is part of the party. I have micrometers that are Lufkin, and were probably made in the 40s. Still in use today.- Thunderjet

My plan is to live within my means and not rely on the folks I left working to pay my way. Don't borrow money for anything but real estate.(and work like hell to pay it off.) Oh, I've seen that, when I went to Canada.:D I I do use the pointy end of an edge finder to find the center of a prick punch mark for a quicky hole location. Works great.- Thunderjet

There are no details on the "C" features. As drawn we must assume that they are a sheared feature, requiring a slight form along the dead edge. Modification is not required.- Thunderjet

Do your Albrecht keyless chucks fully close?
The larger one do not close down to less that around .040. I have a very small one (.125 max) that will grip a .004 drill. that's the smallest I know of.- Thunderjet

Ok, I'll go again. This was a regrettable blow up on my part. Not proud of it, but I'll not apologize either. I spent 19 1/2 years building brand new dies for a large electrical service manufacturer.
