Why does the B&S CMM light pen not work with an amber CRT?

The CMM does not display correctly on a CGA monitor. Some of the lines are cut off at the top and bottom as well as the width being too narrow. This cannot be corrected for with adjustments. I thought that the display signal was EGA, but the XVGA adapter displayed an horizontal frequency of...

New machinist looking for knowledgeable advice "index 55"

If you bought that model mill, you'll wish you had a mill with the head mounted on a ram. When you get that oddball part that has to be hung off the side of the table or is too long to reach, you'll need to swing the head over to it. You'll want all the versatility that you can get...

Rigging Machines with Cushion Tire Forklift on Dirt/Gravel

Had a 28K pneumatic-tire lift at the shop last year. Part of the driveway is asphalt millings. If he turned the wheels too far, it would plow the stone. Had a neighbor on stand-by with his 4 wheel drive backhoe to push the forklift when it got stuck. The forklift needed its own trailer. Bill

Dropsa Air/Oil Lubricator Resets on Mill Spindle or Air Compressor Startup

Looks like I can replace the controller with a few timers and relays. All of the rest of the components work. The pump and solenoid are 120V also. Bill

Dropsa Air/Oil Lubricator Resets on Mill Spindle or Air Compressor Startup

I am looking at other brands. I don't care as long as it works. It's 120V and I believe the control checks for air pressure and the state of the alarm contacts. Bill

Dropsa Air/Oil Lubricator Resets on Mill Spindle or Air Compressor Startup

It is a new-ish install (June 2022). The supply phases are connected correctly. Actually, last evening it starting working correctly. Today, it is stuck in a loop and never goes on standby. Tried resets and cycling the power. It seems to be in need of repair/replacement. They don't make...

No. Mill is on phase converter. Compressor is single phase. I contacted the manufacturer. They said it is broken. Replacement is $4000.00. Bill

Dropsa Air/Oil Lubricator Resets on Mill Spindle or Air Compressor Startup

Lubricator control consistently resets when mill spindle starts (about 2000 rpm and above) and/or each time the air compressor kicks on. Has anyone had this problem? Unit (120V) is wired to the mill's transformer in the cabinet. Thanks, Bill

Mori SL1H Turret Problem (Help source Solenoid Valve Body)

My turret would only be off far enough that the coupler teeth would clash. It always needed to go a little further. Never went too far like yours. Certain positions seem to "clunk" more than others. Bill

Mori SL1H Turret Problem (Help source Solenoid Valve Body)

The shaft splines on my turret are worn. Successful tool indexing greatly depends on the balance of the turret. I always keep a tool holder at each position, even if it is empty. You may want to make sure there are no chips around the proximity sensors. I have tried adjusting mine. I could...
