    Deckel FP3 Accessories

If this machine is the one I think it is, it normally came from the factory with HH scales, and actually, the X axis one was hidden inside the carriage. And next year's model (1978) is the aktiv one, on which the scales were an essential part of its functionality. So DRO wasn't meant to be...

    Deckel FP3 Accessories

Never done it, but I'd move the stop somewhere and have the machine trip on it. Then, use a gauge block stack to measure the distance between the stop and the trip dog. Keep the stack. Move your axis where you actually want it to stop and move the stop as well so that the gauge block stack just...

    Deckel FP3 Accessories

I'll insist on the horizontal quill, at least for the time being Peter. Yet, the future is unknown 🤣

    Deckel FP3 Accessories

Hi there, well done on your purchase! Which one of Peter's machines did you get? Well, you can't really have too many of those deckel tools but if I had to prioritize, then I'd add to Ross's list, provided that you're keeping the S20x2 drawbar: - stuby arbors for shell mills and facemills - 40...

Looking for a Deckel FP1 Horizontal Arbor

According to my, limited, experience, in 2023 horizontal arbor work will be mainly roughing. And all the setup's (arbor+cutter) suffer from more or less run out. So, just keeping the cylindrical part of the arbor and sticking it in an EM holder or collet will be more than ok. You'll have your...

Looking for a Deckel FP1 Horizontal Arbor

That's exactly what I suggested but with a collet. Yes, the endmill holder approach is preferable, it also provides the flange for the spacers to rest on! The over arm support I wouldn't modify if I had the intention of finding Deckel arbors eventually. Turning the arbor down to 17 mm and...

Looking for a Deckel FP1 Horizontal Arbor

I suppose roughing out would be on the lathe. Still the keyway thing is an issue when trying to thin down such arbors. BR, Thanos

Looking for a Deckel FP1 Horizontal Arbor

If I may, if you're having a hard time looking for a horizontal arbor for your Deckel, go to your local swap meeting or scrap yard and get an arbor for any kind of machine (40 taper, 50 taper, whatever), as long as the OD fits your tools or your liking. Cut the taper off, stick in on the lathe...

    "straight only" divisor?

Practically, you can easily live with the one you have. If you can spare the 500 bucks, the deckel indexing head is nice for mounting on the vertical table and working with the horizontal (for gear cutting etc), very compact and rigid setup. Also, the 40 taper spindle nose is kind of nice, using...

    Deckel FP2 auction purchase

Well, actually, the carriage dovetail holder accepts either the gauge-block holder or the optical measuring device assembly. Not that it really matters in any case, it'll end in a box, it's 2023, he'll fit a DRO 😋 BR, Thanos

I've never seen an English manual for the 500mm FP2, that would be a great contribution to the forum!

Versions of Deckel FP2 with 500mm X travel?

Hey Erik, Could you please share the test paper? I'd really like to know what (and how) a new fp2 was supposed to measure! (Sloppy English, but you understand....) Thanks, Thanos

My Prvomajska ALG-100, English manual coming

I must insist that neither my old ALG nor any ALG/FP1 with MT4 I've seen in pics had any notches there...really strange. Regarding holding the spindle, not sure if you need something like this. A low gear will be just fine for securing tools.
