    WTB: Erickson QC30 locknut

Hi all,I found that one of the locking tabs on my Erickson QC30 spindle locknut has cracked. It still seems to work fine, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before a tool comes flying out at me. Does anyone have one they'd like to sell? Thanks, Lee

Surface Grinder coolant + dust collection?

Hi all, for those of you who have surface grinders equipped with both flood coolant and dust collection on the wheel guard, do you use them both at the same time? Or would that make a mess? I've also seen dust collection on the guard at the left hand side of the table - does that work well...

    Erickson QC30 nut pin/spring missing

Hi all I have a Clausing Kondia mill with an Erickson QC30 spindle. The spindle nut is missing the pin, spring, and the longer set screw. I'm still able to tighten up on toolholders, but would like to replace the other parts so the action is correct. Are they standard items I can order? Or would...

    Brobo 300 Cold Saw

Brobo 300 Cold Saw for sale This is too far down my to-do list, so it's time to pass it on. The good: - It's complete as far as I can tell, except for a stand - runs smoothly - has a built in coolant pump, and space for a coolant tray/tank under the casting The bad: - the blade guard was...

    Parting out Johnson J Bandsaw

I started a teardown on this Johnson Model J, with the intent of restoring, but just picked up a nice wellsaw in good condition. The Johnson needs a fair amount of work to get back in useable condition, so it's probably better to part out. Most of the small parts are soaking in evaporust at the...

Using 1/16" shank tools with NSK HES510 spindle

I see a CHK-1.6 on the ampco tools website, but they have the imperial sizes listed beside it and (weirdly) it's listed as 1.6mm (0.0629") So I had overlooked it. 1.6mm is actually 0.063, so hopefully it's a typo I'll send them a note to ask about it, thanks!

Using 1/16" shank tools with NSK HES510 spindle

Hi all, I have an NSK HES510 high speed subspindle in my mill. It came as standard with a 1/8" CHK collet, and NSK offers an optional 1/4" collet. I have a need to use some endmills that are only available in 1/16" shank, but I don't see a 1/16" CHK collet available anywhere. I did find...

I got the spring from sawblade.Com, but dake's price wasn't too much higher. The cylinder seems expensive everywhere though Lee

Johnson J Bandsaw - vertical mode?

Awesome, thanks so much Neil The tension spring was missing, but the replacement arrived in the mail yesterday. That was a very reasonable $65 The downfeed cylinder is another story - the replacement part is around $600, which seems silly so I figured I could cobble together something for much...

Johnson J Bandsaw - vertical mode?

Hi all, I posted this in general, but it received no responses so I'm trying it here. Please forgive the double post -------- I'm starting a restoration of a Johnson Model J bandsaw, and have a couple of quick questions: - on my saw, the hydraulic downfeed cylinder was completely rusted...
