Fusion 360 on Y axis lathes
Yep, relatively easily done. I have a Doosan Lynx LSY and use Fusion regularly for it. I've tweaked the post processor a fair bit, as I'm somewhat anal about code formatting.- Liberty_Machine

And while I do have a Machine Config for my lathe, sometimes I forget to use it, no issues with that. It essentially just saves me a step when I go to post process the code, since the Machine Def automatically selects the post I need (as opposed to having to scroll thru my list of post processors)- Liberty_Machine

My Tool library has the presets for the materials I'm cutting, each toolpath has SFM and FPR fields, control it all at that level. That said, it is possible to make a generic Mill/Turn Machine Definition, just click the "+" symbol and create one in the folder of your choice (I prefer the Cloud...- Liberty_Machine

FWIW, I use F360 to program my Doosan Lynx LSYB. Despite the lack of machine sim, I've manage to avoid crashes and produce quality parts.- Liberty_Machine

Fusion 360 does not yet support machine configurations or machine simulation for lathes of any kind. That said, they're well aware of the need for this (it's really long overdue) and are working on bringing a solution to market- Liberty_Machine

Yes, indeed, because it IS a spline (assuming I'm trying to deburr the top edge). However, if I was to machine the bore itself, using the top (or bottom) edge as the driving contour, it results in circular moves (turn on Smoothing to "Fit Arcs")- Liberty_Machine

I know for a fact that the CAM side: A) Does recognize the cylinder itself as an actual cylinder B) If I was to create a toolpath from the projected geometry, the toolpath would indeed be an arc move: As for why the Projection is incorrect, I'm unsure, it's not something I ever considered...- Liberty_Machine

To the OP; I didn't see this detailed; but what CAM system are you using? Can you share an image of one of the features that's being recognized as a spline? As a Fusion user myself, Spline is the last thing I want to be modeling with (unless I'm going for an organic shape)- Liberty_Machine

I'm looking at adding a 4th axis to my Kitamura MyCenter 3XD. Something with an 8" table, 150/160mm center height (if need be, a riser could get me there), decent clamping torque (off center mill/drilling). Source for blanchard ground blanks?
Size; +/-.015 all over, flatness/parallelism of the 1.2" would be under .001", squareness of sides would be .001/.002". Not all that critical outside of flat/parallel Smaller version of this plate:- Liberty_Machine

I need to make a fixture for my 4th axis so I need a piece of flat ground steel (any grade, really) roughly 1.2" x 6" x 18". I would prefer to just buy something close to thickness and size and finish as needed. Anyone know a good source for this?- Liberty_Machine

CAM Recommendations for 2 axis gang tool lathe
What do you need to change from the Fusion code? The post processor is for a generic Fanuc output, but editing the post to give you what you're looking for isn't "that" difficult.. I use Fusion for my twin spindle Lync w/CY, very little editing, if any.- Liberty_Machine
