A little puzzle. B&S bench micrometer

That has nothing to do with Sunnen

Can anyone identify this style of indicator? It is used for align boring. (Starrett)

That is from the cylinder head cam boring machine that Tobin Arp made. They sold it to Sunnen and Sunnen redesigned the gauge. Sunnen will not have parts.

Holding 6 micron (2 tenths) hole tolerance

Those tolerances should be checked with an air gauge not pins if they are serious about 2 tenths. The good news for you if they are checking with pins they will be excepting parts with more than 2 tenths.

Holding 6 micron (2 tenths) hole tolerance

Remember with a floating holder your trying to float the holder with a tool the size of spaghetti and about as ridged

Holding 6 micron (2 tenths) hole tolerance

Sunnen has heavy parts fixtues that will allow it to be done horizontal. Verticle would be better if you have $500K to spend.

Holding 6 micron (2 tenths) hole tolerance

Single pass a .159" diameter good luck. You are not going to feed it over a tool that small by hand with any luck. To hold good geometry on a part like that I would "square hone" it on a Sunnen power stroker like a ML2000.

first time using expandalble reamer on conrod bushings -

If your going to ream wrist pin bushings my advice is just put it together with the old bushings. Old worn out bushings will still be a better fit than a reamed bushing.

    Honing carbide

He didn't say he had a tollerance of 50 millionths but he had to hone out .00005 - .0001

    Honing carbide

If you buy a diamond stone you also need a hard mandrel. You will spend close to an hour getting it true enough for that little stock removal. Just use an A55 stone, aluminum oxide, and take the tenth out of all 6 in less than a hour. The stone will wear fast enough to stay dead true.

    Honing carbide

Diamond stones will cut carbide with no problem. You only have 6 parts and taking out less than a tenth I would worry it out with what you have.

    Sunnen MB-30 honing oil?

It will work but be careful of misting. Sunnen MB30 is good oil but not the best to be breathing.

    Seen that happen also

Just bought an old Sunnen LBN. What spindle lube?

It is a centrifugal pump not much to go wrong. The shaft should have a few thousands clearance if it is more you will have to bore it out and sleeve it. Other than that make sure the pickup screen is clean I have seen them plugged with lint from rags and make sure the belt is not slipping...
