CNC Machine Tool Electrical Cabinet Layout 101

Yea, that is a side effect of making their own PLC control for many years. Customization of the cabinet. They are not forced into using 'generic' I/O modules, to 'generic' relay blocks. The 'SLBus' really was a great space and wiring saver. The operators panel with a dozen switches, feed knobs...

    real time macro fanuc 31i-b

The simultaneous running of 2 programs is how the 'sinker edm' software ran. So the control could be made to do it. But it would most likely have to be included by the machine builder as it would likely need a C-Language executor interface to use it along with a ladder tie-in. Isn't this how...

    Involute spline generator?

I have used both Geartrax solidworks plugin and the Esprit gear generator. The esprit generator generates a cleaner export file than the 'hundred points profile' solidwoks DXF export does.

Hitachi-Seiki Seicos-3 Screen Replacement, Color EL Plasma

Well I got the convertor back. I see the issue on the board. Such damage in a little amount of running time. I wonder if it was soldered on backwards. Looks to be the main input capacitor for the internal power supply. I guess I will be replacing this with a better part on the next one.

Hitachi Seiki HT20SII CNC Lathe and is in need of your help due to an turret fault

The battery is behind the computer card cage in the cabinet. It will be a couple of alkaline batteries in a plastic holder. It may be behind or pulled out from behind the cage depending on who changed them last. They have a short cord attached. Change the battery with the CONTROL ON.

Hitachi-Seiki Seicos-3 Screen Replacement, Color EL Plasma

The 'common' hard membranes are thin polycarbonate. Good for the old Yaskawa keyboards, not for the Hitachi that had real spring-loaded keyswitches that need a few mm of travel. The silicone keyboard protectors would be ideal. But not enough demand for the tooling costs. And to answer the big...

I have a customer with a 1996 Hitachi-Seiki Holonical Cell ( RGV robot with 2 load stations and 3 horizontals ). The cell controller is the Seicos III computer. A 1994? NEC design with a 10" Color EL Plasma screen. ( remember plasma screens? ). Well, long story short, after almost 27 years of...

Wire EDM outside radius datum pickup attachment?

The machine has to be put in a 'feed per min' mode ( ignores spark generator feedback ). Then the high-speed skip signal is used for the probing. ( may require control options ).

Alarm 547 turret clamp not confirmed

Look for that or a shipping bracket. It might be blocking the rotation. Does to rotate if you move the X away from home? The cam device is a simple design. Just complicated to machine and align internally. Hitachi never let us take one apart. Always made us exchange the entire thing as a unit...

Exactly what are the alarms? I don't have a ladder book for that control. The Multi should have a description in the control.
