I don't have a wire cut EDM CAM, so I program the wire cut point to point in panel control. So, I would like to expose the G-code programming...

Looks like a point to point gcode program. More information would help others to help you, Machine? Control? Material? Wire?

Calling vertical alignment probing cycle from program with Sodick AQ327L

You have to write it by hand using G80. Done it.

    Machining confession thread.

I have been running wire EDM machines in a production environment for 5 years. We run a part that is a titanium/ceramic glue up, and we have to align it to the wire axis to .0001 or better. We use a gauge pin thru the center bore for this alignement. In my first year I crashed the lower head...

Problem with Halt switch in edm Sodick A530D

Reach out to Sodick, they have excellent tech support.

Wire EDM outside radius datum pickup attachment?

Yes, they have built in probing with the wire, so I am just going to use that short to ground probing with my external probe. Sadly these AG600Ls don't have an option for external probing, the newer Sodicks apparently do have the ability for an external renishaw probe.

Wire EDM outside radius datum pickup attachment?

I don't run Mits machines, and I am sure they can probe with the wire just like the Sodicks I do run. The fixture I am creating is to probe datum features of parts that the wire cannot get too, like a boss in the middle of a flange, etc.

Wire EDM outside radius datum pickup attachment?

So in my little test I did with a few magnets and an ejector pin, I just had the pin conductively connected to the upper head. When it touched it completed the circuit as if the wire was what was grounding to the table thru the part. The probe I designed and we have built should do the same...

    Replace dead prototrak lathe.

Because it is broke, and they are trying to decide if replacing it or paying for parts for an old machine is worth it.

    Replace dead prototrak lathe.

We have made 1500 of these particular parts on this lathe before it failed, one dimensions requires +/- 0.0001 we hit it according to every tool we use to measure it.

Sodick linear motor drive 35L sinker edm ?

I run wire EDMs, but there are many sinker guys in here as well.

    Replace dead prototrak lathe.

standardparts, yeah we saw that. I was just wondering if someone had an alternative. IE shopping around for information.

    Replace dead prototrak lathe.

Emgo, we aren't making shafts, these are small parts less then 2x3 inches. Standardparts, the machine is a Trak TRL-1440P. Manual states repeatability to 0.0005 or less. The two machinists that use this for the part routinely repeat in the 0.0001 range, verified on Zeiss Contura CMMs. So...

    Replace dead prototrak lathe.

Thanks for telling me I am full of it. We were hitting +/- .0001 on the existing Prototrak machine. Why not a new prototrak? They only appear to make very large Toolroom lathes now, this is a much smaller machine.

    Replace dead prototrak lathe.

We have a prototrak lathe that has failed, they are trying to determine if they want to repair or replace it. Any tips on a CNC lathe with conversational programing for parts 6x12 inches or less. The kicker is we need to be able to repeatably hit .0001 tolerance on the main parts we run on this...

    Round parts from plate.

Nearly exactly right, I was a bit vague on purpose. ;) The second part was within .0001 of tolerance, and .0002 of perfectly round. And we stopped rust forming by dipping them in mill/lathe coolant and only blowing them off, so they will get a final cleaning before leaving.

    Round parts from plate.

We have made 2 parts from plate on the EDM and it worked "ok", there is a blend mark on the OD from the tab cut off, but other than that the parts have stayed round and meet tolerance specs. But, we are also exploring turning the OD and just EDM the ID, should be able to save time overall.

    Round parts from plate.

1018 stress relieved is what has been recommended. I do not know if cold or hot rolled. We are working to do a couple of test parts. And an alternative to turn it out of bar or tube and just finish the ID on the EDM.

    Round parts from plate.

I have been tasked with cutting a bunch of round parts from 1018 plate. ~1.5 inches tall, 1.0Ø with a .0236 wall thickness with a 4x features on the ID making it up to .047 wall thickness. 14x6x1.46in 1018 stress releived. Faces machined flat to remove mill scale. A bunch of starter holes...

    Sodick ALN600G tank door

Probably a limit switch in the door assembly not reporting properly. Reach out to Sodick, you should be under warranty for that.

    guide pipe wont move

I had something like that happen on my Sodick AG600L, the magnetic coupling was out of position so I had to manually slide the outer guide part until it recoupled to the internal magnetic piston. But it sounds like you may have tried that already.
