O/T wiring into a 20 amp circuit
No - replace the 18 awg with at least 14 awg preferably 12 awg reel. The 18 awg is too small to be useful in a shop for an extension cord. About the only thing I would use it for is lights.- markz528

VFD Loud bang.
Yeah - I'm on of them EEs too........... Back in the 90's I got my fire hose dose on capacitors on VFDs. They were blowing up on our machines on a regular basis - one vendor's drive. When I say blowing up, the cabinet doors were buckling. Some of these drives had close to probably 60...- markz528

Will This NT30 Right Angle Adapter Work with my BT30 Spindle?
I believe that my draw bar is 1/2". I figure that a new draw bar would be required. I will take a look at my spindle to see if there is room for the additional NT30 projection, even if I need to cut it down. -

Suggestions on how to Disassemble this Armstrong Torque Wrench?
So I calibrated it yesterday. It is very linear and repeatable. Only issue is that I need to add about an 0.080" washer/shim to get the dial properly zeroed. Right now its about 20 ft lb off of zero. I can certainly use it this way, but long term I will fix it. I know how to read the dial... -

single phase motor not starting- capacitor?
If its humming its usually an indicator of an open start circuit, meaning start switch or bad capacitor. Get it spinning by hand then try to start it. If it starts, its most likely the capacitor or centrifugal switch.- markz528

He said on a VFD. Volts/hz is relatively contestant in a VFD in constant torque range so the current basically stays the same. And Ohm's law doesn't work on a motor because its a torque matching device.- markz528

And what fun would that be? I actually considered it but Angle Repair quoted up to $270 including shipping. They really are not that hard to do once apart. I will at my buddy's next week who has a torque wrench calibrator so trying to take advantage of having the calibrator to use. john.k -... -
