Chip tray fitment for lathe that never came with one?
I have the tabs that mount to the motor base and the pedestal "stub" that mounts under the tailstock end, all from a 13" If you wanted O.G. stuff. BUT, you'd need to source a shorter leg for the tailstock end (Mine was sold already) I LOVE the idea of a slide out pan, either with a toolbox/cart...- Desmato

Gone daddy gone ! There was zero spindle in the machine. The P.O. removed the caps and lifted the entire assy out and made it go away. That nut isn't a hard thing to make, especially on a lathe. If you can't find one, or have it made locally.... I could make one for you but I'd need the old...- Desmato

Ok, so who here can give me a crash course in initial setup on this thing ? I'm having one hell of a time with proper tool offset measurements even with the presetter (which is zero'd). I was told by the old owner "use U & W for the offsets" but those don't seem to do anything different than...- Desmato

On the reversing lever, The twins are 30 tooth and 27 tooth. The big outter one is 36 tooh, the inner is ... 32. On the slide gear, 66 teeth on the biggun, 24 on the little. Dual gear is 22 & 64 teeth.- Desmato

1991 vf 1 gearbox rebuild
Ok, gunna pull this one back out. Eksinger, did you keep a parts list of all the items ? My transmission (1-'91 VF-1) and tho still full of oil, it has rubber "cushions" surrounding the 6 mounting bolts which prevents me from tensioning the belt in the manner found in the '93 and newer... -

Trav-a-dial bracket for 10EE ?
Considering all the modern adhesives. That's a great idea ! I have 2 B.P.s, 3 lathes, a Haas VF-1 and an old Cincom CNC "Swiss". I want to add DROs to all the old stuff but never cared for the drill/tap into older, sought after machines.- Desmato

BSG, that 1st one is the one i was looking at/for. I think it's the BR-87 i saw online but without the actual # can't be for sure. I seems to recall the # is on the side of the top where it ists on the saddle. Maybe it's on the back side ? I thought on making one, but the desire to perforate...- Desmato

I would be in for just about any of them, but would prefer the standard 2 prong version like in Brandenburger's photo !! ['67 square dial here] I have given a LOT of thought on making my own with a weldment, but time has provided me little extra over the years. I DO need a follower tho.- Desmato

"Hot gluing a fuse holder and wiring it into a blown Daito fuse is a standard piece of kit for a CNC tech" That's kinda what I did, but I used a mini ATC fuse holder. way smaller that a typical glass fuse holder. easier to test, easier to purchase.- Desmato
