Brought my early Model C home today, going by the serial number database it's a 1938 model. Ordered the refresh kit with oils from ebay and gave it a bit of a cleanup. The number seems to change from 415-YA in 1938 to 415-YC in 1939 from the last 1938 catalog on your site to the first 1939 one so I'm guessing at 1938. Once I have it in hand I'll bounce the serial number off Grizzly and post it all in the serial number thread. I'll be ordering the complete kit...- Randy_C

It's dirty but under the dirt it looks pretty solid to me. The spindle had no slop I could detect turning it by hand, for what that's worth.- Randy_C

It seems like it would be worth the time rather than rushing to get it up and running to go ahead and do some disassembly and cleaning and replacing the felts.
