4th axis using Yaskawa servo drive on Fadal

Be very careful picking out a Yaskawa drive. Some use pots and jumpers, some have a keypad , some use a digital operator and some use a serial connection and their software. Some parameters are not editable... as in they are protected and Yaskawa isn’t going to share how to change them. My...

4th axis using Yaskawa servo drive on Fadal

The Yaskawa drive cost is gonn a floor you... and support Yaskawa is not helpful, at all. Not all Yaskawa encoders are created equally. Some are incremental and have a serial line and battery back up. Look at the actual cable signals. What you will run into is getting a drive to work with it...

4th axis using Yaskawa servo drive on Fadal

There are a couple things going on here. What kind of motor does the rotab have on it? Ac or dc? Is the drive analog or digital? What year is your Fadal? Ac or dc motors? Fadals use a +- 10v analog signal to drive the amps. Fadals with dc motors have resolvers not encoders. Fadals with ac...

Upgrading RAM/Max RAM on Dynapath Delta 20?

I talked with Dynapath and they are unreasonable. As for your analogy about my bank account, please piss off... It is your choice to finance already greedy overpaid control providers, I’m sure you are quick to open your wallet willingly to Fanuc. I’m not, Doesn’t sound like you run your...

Why should I get a Fanuc control instead of a Mitsubishi?

Actually it’s Fujitsu not Fuji and they didn’t invent the cnc. Prior to Ge Fanuc, Ge had their own line of controls dating back to the late 1950’s. The Ge 2000 control was one of the best cnc controls ever made, also at the time the most expensive. GE controls were easy to use. Even the 1050 was...

    Mori SL3 - Yasnac LX1 - Error 331 & 332 - Fuse blowing

Peepaw is the man. The fuse alarm you speak of is not a fuse at all, it’s a detection circuit on the drive board. Often they will reset. The main culprit is a 17 pin sip package , usually has a number like JH185 or JH183. They are diode resistor or capacitor package.. Yaskawa does not sell...

    WTB BT45 Right Angle Head

I have a right angle head with an hsk63 on it. You could change it out. I also have about 400 cat 45 holders. I don’t know what’s involved in the changes to your machine to use them. I’d sell it all cheap.

Upgrading RAM/Max RAM on Dynapath Delta 20?

I know this is an old thread. I’m working on decoding the number written on the Gal chip. It is a hex number . Autodesk HSM (HSM works), Any negative comments?

I have been using HSM for 3 years, I started with Fusion in 2018 and got sick of the cloud. My take on the lathe. Like any package you have to learn it’s weirdness. The “ heights can be confusing, they need to be updated. You can absolutely add tangential extensions, the confinement is so-so...

    Welcome to my casting nightmare

Info is power. I don’t smoke, no that’s kinda a non issue, and of course machines do eat people, at least the careless.. there is no lack of danger in the world. There was a time when “ radon crocks” were being touted as the cure all for everything, we figured out, such is not the case. I...

    Welcome to my casting nightmare

Woods Metal is pretty nasty stuff, 10% Cadnium . Lead isn’t much better. Pitch sounds like the way to go.I remember pitch being called “ dopping compound “, we used it to glue rocks on sticks so they could be polished on a lapidary wheel. I wouldn’t have thought of it or known what to call it or...

    Welcome to my casting nightmare

If my customer insisted that the parts be made from the castings, I’d agree, they are alright with them being made from solid. It’s always been a problem part for them and anyone they had do it. I’ve never seen a “ snow grinder” , they very well may have been faced on a machine like that. I’m...
