WTB - Heidenhain Readout for Deckel FP3

I have a TNC111 from an FP1, if it would work?

Endworking Stamp Head for use in Swiss?

To keep from "skid starting"... I did miss the in-feed after the spindle start. 🤷‍♂️

Endworking Stamp Head for use in Swiss?

Just thinking out loud... Stop the spindle, feed into the broach enough to make contact, start spindle, rapid back?

Endworking Stamp Head for use in Swiss?

Only experience is with CAV 320's, but if you have X cleared of the stock, collet open and put the bar feeder into auto it will push material out until it crashes into the sub. If there is a setting to stop that behaviour, I would love to know what it is!

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

    Here is the code on the main: G0 X.4 Z-.025 T3; G41 G1 X.14 Z0 F.02; G2 X.195 Z.0275 R.0275 F.0025; G1 Z.75; X.3 X.355 Z.78175; Z1. G40 X.4 Z-.05 T0; And pic of the tool for the sub:

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

It was an uncalled for reply, I should have said nothing. Life's difficult at the moment, and I was feeling punchy.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

It is a left hand tool, with the insert horizontal, the cutting point on top and pointing to the right. Hope to get to devote some time to this again tomorrow afternoon.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

Not sure where I declined to publish a drawing, but ok. Yes, I asked for assistance with programming. Not how I should be running my shop. That is all.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

I agree, and that is how I programmed it. Originally. Beauty of the world we live in is that we can all have our preferred methods, and we can all be right about who's is best.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

Will have to draw something, parts are being coded from prototype parts that were sent to me. If you look at the picture I posted you can see it is a pretty simple part. I made a short video on it too, if you really want to see.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

I agree, which is why I am asking. Going from manual TNC calculations, .003 does not seem anywhere ample enough to be that.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

You may be on to something. I'll see how spunky I feel on Monday. As for it saying exactly 60/30 that is because I rounded to the tenths place on the initial output from calculating the chamfer.

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

And actually, now that I type that out I can tell you what the front chamfer code was as I just "walked it in (or out in this case)". X.3 X.355 Z.03375

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

    Correct me if I am wrong, but... G0 X.4 Z-.05 T34; <-- Rapid from G28Z0 to 0.045/2=0.0225 above the part as was turned to .355 (5/16 hex for what it is worth) G41 G1 X.36 Z.03625 F.0015; <-- Feed from ^ to X.36 (.005 above the OD) Z.03625 and enable TNC X.297 Z0; <-- Feed X and Z at the same...

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

I do not have the code for the chamfer on the main, will have to check it at the shop on Monday. But I can tell you the chamfer I was going for was 60* A side = Z0 + Z.03625 = .03625 B side = X.36 - Z.297 = .063

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

    Not sure if I did manual TNC compensation, but I adjusted the coordinates to get as symmetrical as needed for a nut as seen below. VBMT with R.0079 with tool setting of 3 in offset/T. T3400; M23 S2=1750; G0 X.4 Z-.05 T34; G41 G1 X.36 Z.03625 F.0015; X.297 Z0; X-.03; G40 G0 Z-1. T0; I did...

    TNC on A20 Sub Spindle?

Trying to use G41/G42 on the sub of my A20, but am pretty sure it is not working. Not getting an error, but my chamfer is not symmetrical to the one being done on the front. Not finding anything in the book about (or lack of support for) TNC on the sub. 🤷‍♂️ T3400; M23 S2=1750; G0 X.4 Z-.05...

    Cut-Off on Swiss

Kinda funny you post this, and I am in the middle of brushing up on my swiss programming now that I have my machine up and running. Found a pick-off example that went to X-.3 after parting off (X-.03), before returning to start. Not sure I would have made the connection if not for this thread...

    Cut-Off on Swiss

Adjust the force the bar feeder is putting on the bar? Or go further past X0 in attempt to get more of the stock pushing on the holder vs the insert?
