Miller Syncrowave 180SD Tig Foot Controller, Torch, Stinger, etc

Great question and that was considered.. The thought process, flawed it may be, is what drove the decision. I'm not a professional Welder and my rig will be babied by comparison. My mentor has a new rig that I REALLY like and well, I want one. (I know , I know. Poor machinist that blames his...

    Wade 8a - Head stock/spindle dismantling

I have a couple of extra Wade 8a head stocks and I'd like to try and harvest a few parts. However, after digging into the first one, I'm puzzled. How the heck do you dismantle this thing?? My headstock/spindle for reference. Assuming I don't break the others, I MAY tear mine down for a proper...

Miller Syncrowave 180SD Tig Foot Controller, Torch, Stinger, etc

My Miller 180SD took a nose dive and the repair cost is just shy of a new rig. These parts won't transfer to the new rig and I refuse to scrap good parts/tooling. (Just something criminal about it.) So, hopefully some of my PM friends can make use of these and/or flip them for some extra change...

    Wade 8a #407

Been a good while since I've posted. However, progress is progress and the things I've been accomplishing aren't really post worthy. I feel like this is. :) I FINALLY figured out programming on the Teco-510 VFD and have successfully integrated the vintage lathe controls with the VFD! In the...

    Bastard file -name origin?

Some interesting insight. Obviously, the actual origin is lost to time. However, I can see where a cultural exchange could cause a misnomer. Equally, I can see the logic in the "not course" and "not fine". I've always found etymology to be fascinating. Thanks for contributing to my curiosity!
