    Okuma LS Gear Specifications

Thanks for the reply. In the end I was looking on ebay and found a seller advertising a lot of different gears. I asked them if they would produce what I wanted, and they gave me a very reasonable price so I bought from them. I haven't really put that many hours on the machine, but no...

Dong Yang (LS Clone) way wipers

I received a set of the 3D printed way wipers from Farm Boy Sales a week or two ago. The V and flat wipers fit snugly and from my very limited experience so far seem to be doing their job. The wipers for the wider front way didn't fit, but I think that is more due to slight variations between...

Dong Yang (LS Clone) way wipers

Thanks, but this isn't a CNC machine. I found a company making 3D printed replacement wipers in the same style as the originals and am probably going to try out a set. I'll post back her with my experience.

Dong Yang (LS Clone) way wipers

I'm in the process of getting a Dong Yang lathe up and running. In cleaning up the way wipers I found out that they are not felt like I suspected. The ones on the carriage are a fairly hard plastic (maybe used to be soft?) with a lip that rides against the ways. The tailstock wipers do have...

    Okuma LS Gear Specifications

Thanks for the info. From measuring the existing gears I can confirm that they are Mod 1.5. So far I haven't had much luck finding these particular gears anywhere. Any suggestions on a supplier, or somewhere that would make them?

    Okuma LS Gear Specifications

Thank you for your response, I think things are a little clearer to me now. So far it seems that wherever I look to purchase gears they want a different set of specifications.

    Okuma LS Gear Specifications

I must admit, that a lot of the gear terminology is confusing to me having never really worked with it. In this case, both gears are missing so I don't know what the OD should be. Having said that, I guess if I can measure the module size of the existing gears that those mate to, I should then...

    Okuma LS Gear Specifications

I haven't been able to find much information on the gears used in the LS lathes. Does anyone know the specifications for the 50 tooth output gear (some are phenolic) and the 63 tooth gear attached to the gearbox?

    Kuhlmann pantograph question

Unfortunately there's no access for that. Not sure if I did it the "right" way but ultimately was able to get it off. The Y axis is connected to the screw somewhat oddly via an offset nut/bracket. With that removed, both axes can slide off the front. Once upside down the X axis nut can be...

    Kuhlmann pantograph question

Has anyone had the table off of one of these? I initially thought you could remove the screw and then slide it off the end, but the table is closed on the ends and as such is captive because of the fixed nut underneath.

    Kuhlmann pantograph question

I spoke with Mike at Plate Engraving yesterday and he was very helpful. Not only was I able to get a copy of the manual, but he said they also have some collets in stock. I don't think they are cheap, but at least they exist. I'll probably end up getting at least one since my machine came...

    Kuhlmann pantograph question

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll have to see how it affects the plunge depth and I'll get in touch with Plate Engraving Corp. Thanks again.

    Kuhlmann pantograph question

Anyone out there have a manual for a Kuhlmann GM 1-1 pantograph? I have most of the operation figured out but one part isn't making sense. The lever on the side of the spindle lowers and raises the spindle by probably 1/4" or so when thrown. The ring that the lever is part of lowers the...

    Gage Block Holders

I'm looking for the one on the right of the photo which looks like it would fit the table on an FP1.

WTT D1-6 Jacobs Rubberflex Collet Chuck

I have a D1-6 Jacobs rubberflex collet chuck (no camlock pins) that uses 900 series collets. I'm hoping to trade it for a D1-3 chuck that uses the same collets. Uploading pictures is not working for me at the moment so if you are interested I can email pictures.

    Blowing modular 10EE fuse

I replaced the capacitor associated with T4, and haven't had the problem since. I've only used it in short spurts, but so far it looks like that was the culprit.

    Agie HSS150 U/V mechanism

We finally got around to taking that mechanism apart. Once we got into it, it was more straightforward than I anticipated. There is certainly some rust, but everything looks like it will clean up ok, except for the motors, I'm not optimistic about those. We were trying to think of things we...

    Blowing modular 10EE fuse

With the spindle off I get 290 V,with the spindle on it drops to 270 V. That voltage does not change with spindle speed.
