    Expected cost for titanium material?

Hi, newer shop. For 100 lb of 6061 I expect to spend between $3-7/lb (upper end if DFAR). For 7075, maybe $10-14/lb. But no clue what a reasonable range on Ti-6-4 is? Getting quotes now but just curious what others have seen.

Aerospace shops, where do you get your mil spec fasteners and hardware from?

Send the BOM to a logistics company and have them figure it out? Approved distributors that usually have everything you need? Custom make when an engineer unknowingly concocts a theoretical combination of spec codes that's never actually existed in real life? Just curious how other shops...

    New shop considering NX Cam.

The large aerospace company I used to be an engineer at was moving towards model based GD&T (in NX). Some branches basically forced their suppliers to be in NX. Some exported as JT files so suppliers could use JT2Go to view the manufacturing info (which would definitely be better in NX).

First time selling machine - Buyer wants to use escrow?

Hi I'm potentially selling a $40k+ machine. I've been going back and forth with a buyer on FB marketplace and he seems ready to pull the trigger, but he wants to use escrow.com for the payment. Now every machine I've bought has been as-is and I pay 100% before it even gets on the truck. So...

To my folks cutting metal with gantry mills and routers, what kind of MRR do you get?

rekt lol. Spindle is 10hp (albeit at 24k rpm) which is horrendously overkill for the rigidity of the machine. I can lightly push a gantry upright and move a dial indicator 5-10 thou. But that's why I'm asking. I know my machine, and I just wanted to know what the full spectrum of gantries can do.

To my folks cutting metal with gantry mills and routers, what kind of MRR do you get?

What kind of cuts do you take into carbon steel for just hogging out material?

To my folks cutting metal with gantry mills and routers, what kind of MRR do you get?

I do basically only aluminum work on my Shopsabre IS-510. My max comfortable side cutting with a 1/4" endmill would be .375"d, .030"w, at 140 IPM. About 1.5 in^3/min (I know, hilarious) is where the cutting starts to sound strained. I'm pretty curious what other gantries people are using and...

Help with Hydraulic Press Brake Actuation

It did end up being a motor rotation problem. We actually did try switching directions early on, but in combination with the motor not being primed (after blowing instead of sucking) and the fluid tank not being filled completely (potentially causing cavitation)... it made an awful sound as if...

Help with Hydraulic Press Brake Actuation

Hi everyone. Got the pressure gauge back on the manifold, it's showing 0 pressure. With the motor firing, and signal to the manifold seemingly working alright. The problem seems to me to have to lie between the pressure gauge and motor. So either something in the manifold or the pump that's...

Help with Hydraulic Press Brake Actuation

Yeah it definitely has fancy valving. It has high pressure and high speed retract and extract speeds. The controller wont do any actions except calibration mode to start. I took a voltmeter to the controller board and found that it's sending the high pressure retract signal to the manifold. I'll...

Help with Hydraulic Press Brake Actuation

The hydraulic pistons are stuck in the extended position which has the head of the press in the closed position since they're linked by a rocker arm. If you look at pics online of the 7606 you can see.

Help with Hydraulic Press Brake Actuation

I tried switching L2 and L3 to it and got some nasty grinding sounds so immediately turned it off. Edit: That being said, the previous owner did have L2 and L3 in the electrical cabinet switched. I assumed it's because their leads going into the machine were swapped.

Help with Hydraulic Press Brake Actuation

We just got an Accurpress 7606. Was working up to the day it got shipped to us. Now we can't get the head to actuate whatsoever. Seller shipped it in the closed position (hydraulics at max extension), albeit unsupported. Verified there is hydraulic fluid, motor turns on, and controller is...
