10L Compound Thrust Bearings and Big Dial Build

I wish the crank handle had two studs. Then I could build a T to chuck in a drill. How did you do yours? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

10L Compound Thrust Bearings and Big Dial Build

It was hard to turn it consistently while turning small tapers. It is smooth as butter now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Still Hunting for a 10L Telescoping Follower Rest...

I feel your pain! It really sucks to pay more for a rest than you paid for the lathe. Good luck! If you happen to find two let me know! Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

    R8 Collets

The collet arrived! Probably not the same quality as the Lyndex of yesteryear but I'm sure it will work for me. Apparently this one was made in India. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

    Pre-owned Bridgeport parts

Just rebuilt a Bridgeport power feed with parts from H&W. I vote buy a complete head if you can find one reasonable. Parts are very expensive. Replacing wore out ones is one thing, but if many are missing it can get get expensive fast. On another note... I see you are a software engineer...

My new Old South Bend 13 - Looking for some advise, opinion, amusing stories

Check out KB electronics. Simple on/off, speed control, and optional forward/reverse. Also runs on 110. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

    R8 Collets

Agree it should work out of the box... but the bearing surface is fine. It's the area between the bearing surface and the draw bar thread that is too small to seat a 3/4 tool deep enough. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

Anyone Make Their Own Chuck Key? (Using only a lathe)

Yesterday, learned something by accident. If you center drill the ends of the handle and heat them up, they flatten easy in a vise. :) Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk
