Have the company buy you a replacement set that meets your satisfaction ( New, slightly used, etc). Looks like the company just acquired the (OD only ) set. Let them deal with the ghost that broke them. Kudos, to your company for offering to make it right.

I would take an end mill and counterbore a recess on the housing. Then drill and tap for a grease fitting that was below the surface.

Too many quick tire places have young guys that set their impacts on 'kill' instead of 'stun'. We had a local place that did tires and they always ran them up with an impact set on low torque and used a torque wrench to tighten. I really miss that place. We had a customer from an oil field...

I ran a Lagun mill 25 years ago that had a LOT of similarities. Same windows on the speed dial ( I know a lot of other mills had them, too). Certain parts of it just look like Lagun.

Thanks for all the advice. This morning, I went left -right several times with the lever and it twisted off. Look like those large screws with the detent balls are supposed to limit the movement. Without the balls/springs in there, thr lever was turned past the normal limited position...

Bill, That's the brand of this lathe, but it has a little bit different set up. Thanks for the file, it will help on another lever that I haven't removed ,yet.

I wondered about that no springs or steel balls inside. Looks like someone just slapped it back together.

There is an aluminum threading chart behind this lever. The chart has to come off to expose the socket head bolts for removing the plate.
