VN No 36 overarm support brackets, and other VN arbor supports

Dug out the "box style" knee support I have and measured. I bought this support and a universal subhead from a machinist who had a few other VN items. All were painted the same color. Was told he acquired these from a machine that was being scrapped. The prefix is 26 on the serial number...

VN No 36 overarm support brackets, and other VN arbor supports

texasgunsmith, The support with the dovetail is definitely too tall to be for a model 22. I have a template I drew of the support from a model 22. And it is much shorter OAL than the one you have. And the slot is shorter as well. I believe you have a model 24 support based on my...

VN No 36 overarm support brackets, and other VN arbor supports

Hi, I'm interested in the support. I believe it is the correct one for my model VN 24. I had a model 22 support that fit the knee of my mill perfectly. The VN model 22 support looks identical except for the height. The base with the dovetail is the same.

Tilting table recommendations for a horizontal mill?

Upcoming job is to make some big angled fixtures (over 12 inches long) for a welding shop. So I think a good tilting table would be best. Set the angle, clamp to plate with some kind of stop for repeat pieces.

Tilting table recommendations for a horizontal mill?

Got a little 5X7 inch tilting table for the Bridgeport. Works fine for what it is. Got a Van Norman model 24 horizontal mill with a universal table. Have an A frame with chain hoist and die cart. So no issue getting the bigger fixtures on and off. Interested in a big tilting table for...

Weight of a model 61 lathe?

Thanks for the reply. I did check out the model 61 brochure. Looks like the base weight of a 30" center to center 16 inch swing is 7,550 lbs. For the 78" between centers add another 860 lbs. Plus an additional 350 lbs for the extra leg support. But the toolmaker version base weight is 7,960...

Weight of a model 61 lathe?

Hello, Opportunity to buy a clean looking 1957 vintage Monarch model 61. Data plaque says 16 inch swing. Actual swing 20" and 78" between centers. Just going by a few cell phone pictures. Seller says it is an overall length of 12 feet. I'm guessing it is about 10,000 pounds. Need to narrow...

Suggestions needed for a sprocket job

Yeah, it was a real head scratcher for sure. Which is why I was asking here. Customer is a local distributor. I e-mailed him to check with his buyer and get more specifics. Guess what? It is a double sprocket with the hub (DS40 A15). That is obviously a different animal and much easier to...

Wanted Handle for Bridgeport rotary handle

Seasick Steve, thanks for the suggestion. Realized I screwed up the original posting. But don't seem to be able to edit it. I meant the entire cast iron lifting handle. Not just the bar. The edge of the handle got bumped and a large portion of the edge broke off. Like the handle on the...

Thanks for the confirmation. I haven't examined a 12 and 15 inch side by side. I thought they looked to be the same.
