I see there a bunch of Biax Scrapers on eBay now.

Hi, Richard. Hope you are fully recovered and feeling great! Does anyone rent Biax scrapers? I can't justify buying one for the small amount of scraping I do, but I'd love to rent one for a week or two.

Just in case you've never seen a Chinese Starrett box label before.

I never considered Starrett would go Chinese. Very depressing. Maybe this explains why, six years ago, our new Starrett dial indicator was sticky right out of the box! See my video at <>. Edit: Added "six years ago"

    SB Name on Lathe beds

My 1948 SB 9A 4-1/2 foot bed has the name cast into the cross braces in a couple places. They looked like this when I got it: I had a lot of fun cleaning up the crap. They look much better now. :)

This email appeared on <[email protected]>. I'm forwarding it with permission. Dear South Bend Lathe folks, My dad, Doug Scott, loved reading the emails in this group even though he didn't post much after getting his 1947 SB 9" Model A up and running in 2013! He passed away this year...

The <Practical Machinist> tab I have on my Google Chrome browser links to <https://www.practicalmachinist.com/forum/>, and the <Forum> tab is highlighted when that page opens, so I think I'm going to the Forum main page.

OT (but quite pertinent, I think) -- A New Idea Regarding Gun Control

I like very much that you refer to the murder as "SOB," "dangerously disturbed individual," and "monster." I wish ALL reports used the same type labels. I would like to have his name and photograph never mentioned nor shown.

OT (but quite pertinent, I think) -- A New Idea Regarding Gun Control

A friend of mine came up with this idea. I think it's unique and very good! What do you think?

    Applying turtice

I have an idea. How about cutting a sheet of paper to align with the saddle, then rubbing the hole locations to mark their positions. After the Turcite is on, replace the sheet of paper and drill the holes.
