Two Ceramic Conditioning Rings for a Lapmaster 12"

Hello, Everyone. About six months ago I acquired a vintage 12" Lapmaster. Runs like a champ. It came with two ceramic that I don't need and can't use. These cost about $500, plus tax and shipping, when purchased directly from Lapmaster. I'm asking $650 for the pair. One of them is clean and...

Your Suggestions, Please: Best Way To Remove PSA Stickem from an Acrylic Base Pad

Hello, I have a weird application in my shop where I've had to create my own base plate for PSA sanding pads. Long story. I've removed a previous pad, but I have a lot of stickem left on the acrylic base pad. I tried hot water, soap, vinegar, and none are working. I read online that I...

In Need of Nesting Software: Any Suggestions?

Hello, Everyone. I am just bringing on our first CNC router, just a small desktop unit. Excuse my ignorance, but do most CNC programs come with a nesting feature? I cut a lot of sheets that are 12" x 12" and want to maximize my yield. Or do I need to acquire a separate program for that? Thank you.

Any Sources Out There for clean, used Lapping Plates

Any Sources Out There for clean, used Lapping Plates? I acquired a really cool, ancient 12" Crane/Lapmaster Lapping machine. It came without the conditioning rings or the lapping plate. I'm going to buy the conditioning rings direct from them, which are about $100 a throw. However, the...

Opinion on OMTech K-40 Laser Units?

Are Offshore K-40 Laser Just a Waste of Money? Hello. I have a very nice Epilog CO-2 laser cutter that works beautifully. I'm going to be needing a laser machine that is strictly an engraver. I have a tiny shop and a limited budget. I know this question gets asked a lot in forum, but forgive...

Does 3M (or Anyone) Sell Trizact 5000 grit material in sheets?

Does 3M (or Anyone) Sell Trizact P5000 Pad material in Rolls, or Similar? Howdy, All. I use the 3M Trizact 3000 and 5000 grit pads for smoothing and polishing with great success in my business. These are used mainly in the auto body industry. Does 3M (or a competitor) sell Trizact material...

Is there such a thing as Self-Adhesive Sanding Pad That is Waterproof?

Hello. I don't think what I need exists, but you guys know a lot more than me. I'm in need of a self-adhesive sanding paper that is also waterproof. Does such a thing exist? Hook and loop won't work because it has too much give. Here's an example from Amazon of something that would be...

Any Benchtop CNC Routers under $3000 That Might Offer 6-inch Z Axis Travel?

Get lost, moron. I have a workpiece that is less than two inches across. What the hell do I need a $200,000 HAAS for a two-inch piece of plastic? Unlike you, I run an actual business with fat profit margins. I'm not some wannabee loser who trolls forums because he can't get a woman and lives in...

Hardplates, Thanks for your advice and detailed response. I tend to do a LOT of research before pulling the trigger, and I also have a revenue goal to reach before I invest. Any Benchtop CNC Routers under $3000 That Might Offer 6-inch Z Axis Travel?

Hello, All. I am looking to purchase the first CNC router for my small shop. I do not need a table larger than about 16" x 16" and I would prefer to buy an American-made model from a vendor with good phone and customer support. The one thing I really need is a standard router with an extended...

Your Recommendation for Larger, Cheaper Version of 3M Trizact Sanding Pad

Digger, hi. It's actually not sandpaper. The Trizact products are thin pads, roughly 1/4" thick. They have the springiness close to, say, thin neoprene. I polish the workpiece on the pad, usually with water, then begin tumbling with corncob at 8K, to 14K, 25K, up to 100,000 grit. #5

Your Recommendation for Larger, Cheaper Version of 3M Trizact Sanding Pad

That's a good point. I'll sniff around. I could also talk to the factory and then ask them to refer me to a local distributor in my area. Thanks, #5

Your Recommendation for Larger, Cheaper Version of 3M Trizact Sanding Pad

I'll tell you a funny story. I've called 3M several times about different topics (not this one) and do you know they are such a gi-normous company that oftentimes they have no idea what I'm talking about if it has to do with another division. Just crazy. So, as busy as I am, that would likely...

Your Recommendation for Larger, Cheaper Version of 3M Trizact Sanding Pad

Thanks to all of you, Gents. I just had a thought. I bet 3M or Norton or someone would sell me some of this stock in sheet form. I'd better my bottom dollar they'd have it in a 12-inch-wide sheet. Thanks! #5
