    Cheap digital caliper ideas

As said above, these knockoffs go thru batteries like crazy, but if the thing is going to be permanently mounted anyway I figured just hook up a real battery which will last. These 3d printed battery holders work well, leave the wires a bit long and then even if the battery leaks you just redo...

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

Do you mean axial spacers to adjust how far the pinion protrudes? that spacer would also need to extend under the mounting bolts, correct? BTW got the new starter and put it in, got lift # 1 started, so that's a win so far. Had all kinds of jumpers strung around because the ignition switch...

starter motor brush configuration and armature testing

I'm rehabbing 2 Clark forklifts, c500s100lpg, perkins 4-236 engines, propane. They both came to me with the starter motors out. The motors both run, but draw way too much amperage and are barely able to turn over the engines, so I've ordered a new starter but wanted to check and see what was...

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

Opened up both starters I have, the "better" one I was using has a high resistance short from commutator bars to the shaft and the other one is smoked inside, so I ordered a new one.

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

There is a different starter specified for the diesel version of this engine, but I don't want to take a chance of it not fitting. If I knew it would fit and was heavier duty I'd get it.

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

I can see the valves, my scope has a side camera which works very well. Looks OK. I took out the rest of the plugs, cleaned them and scoped the other cylinders, looks good. Got my solenoid today and put it in, left the plugs out and spun it over and smelled propane so its getting fuel, but...

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

that's good. I just need to find the LP version, I've heard the engines are the same except for the pistons.

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

perkins 4-236. Kit is here (but its not a diesel, presumably a similar LP version is somewhere): https://www.heavydutypros.com/perkins-g4-236-le-builds-from-esn-u106655n-engine-parts-engine-parts.aspx with the bargain version here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/354316999294

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

Waiting on a starter solenoid, should be here today or tomorrow. I want to get the engines started before I do anything else. Cleaned everything up inside, tapped the e brake arm on the drum down so hopefully the e brake will release, got the propane set up, pulled a plug on each and looked in...

    How to thin Hylomar sealant?

I've had this tin so long I don't even know if a tube was even available when I got it, but the next Hylomar I buy will be in a tube as it thickening in a tube would probably never be an issue.

    How to thin Hylomar sealant?

Indian head has its place, but I definitely prefer hylomar for certain applications. They are very different, and parts assembled with hylomar in my experience are much easier to take apart.

    How to thin Hylomar sealant?

yes, I saw the epa stuff when I was searching for it. I thought maybe Hylomar was gone too as a result, but maybe they look the other way for when it is such small quantities and in such a product as sealant.

    How to thin Hylomar sealant?

Thanks. I should have looked at the msds. I have the blue. Looks like methylene chloride and dichloromethane are the same solvent, but I can't find a small bottle- just larger sizes. I love that stuff but what I have is in a brush top screw top can and its getting too thick to use, and I'd...

    How to thin Hylomar sealant?

I used to know this but have since forgotten. I need to thin out some hylomar sealant; there was a Vasco product to do this but I can't find it. I think it may be MEK, acetone or isopropyl but if someone knows I can avoid experimenting...

Auction / Rigger / dealer horror stories ??

If there is an entry for a max bid, the auctioneer can see it and they have a responsibility to get their seller the highest possible price, and their buyers premium realized is also dependent on that. Too many factors to think you are going to get a bargain unless you just put in your bargain...

OT- Has anyone experienced contact dermatitis on eyelids? How did it go?

Some might say that since they engineered Covid in the first place you'd think their vax might have been more effective. Unless they thought that selling boosters for years and adding it to the childhood vax regimen would be more profitable. Oh, wait....:stirthepot:

Looking for Red / Green tower warning lights, that can be used with a timer.

Got to put it on ring PLUS vibrate. If thats not enough I wonder if there is a phone app that can trigger an external alarm of some sort based on its timer. Maybe generate a message to trigger a wifi capable relay to turn on a light. Shouldn't be too difficult to do edit- my reply was...

    Clark vs Hyster/Yale 15k forklift

Got the lifts home yesterday, a friend had a heavy duty rollback that worked well for one at a time. The right drive wheel on both machines were frozen so you were right about the brakes, but they slid right up the ramp without too much trouble, I think just the parking brakes are stuck...
