If you don't know this, the parallel port removal on PC's is due to economy. I use a serial-to-parallel converter for a parallel port printer. The electronics are so small they are built into the cable header. -

VFD Delay before motor starts. What can cause this?
I use a cheat sheet for all the parameters that I change. At times I change a parameter to test something. I would do that with the restart delay, or anything else. Make it 2 seconds or 5 seconds and see what happens. In the VFD world I get strange things sometimes and I would not classify any...- rons

G2STAR, When doing a floor with 12"x12's, when should a diagonal pattern be used? About being flat, there are these tile spacers that I've never seen before. They have a spring clip that clamps adjacent pieces level. I don't like the X spacers because they have to be removed with a screw driver... -

Manual lathe Relay Problem
Activating manually? Push the contact arm down on the contactor. The contactor coil will work on a wide range of voltage. So I would clean everything up in those contactors. Brush the points and then test with separate 120Vac. If no chatter then test on machine again. -

Repair fireplace tool?
Repair it by making a cylinder of brass or copper. 2" long. ID = OD of broken pieces OD = .050 or greater. Insert both halves into opposite ends. Paint black. -

I'm noticing around here that 12" x 12" marble is scarce. Even Lowes has a brand that they are discontinuing. Another independent warehouse place only had one color and that was going away. A lot of those 12" x 24" pieces. Is that the new thing? A lot of simulated something on a cheap substrate... -

Out of the four Thomson bearings, two have the same dimension and the other two are ,025-.030 longer. After accurate drilling and taping I found this out. -

If no neutral wired to machine, can I use Delta source (Phase Perfect)?
There would be three separate doubling circuits for each phase. The incoming AC is rectified and fed to two capacitors per phase. The caps are in series with now double the voltage across both of them. This raises the DC bus to double potential of what it would have been with no x2/ That's what...- rons

As I work on this I can see your point. There appears to be a breaking-in period with the sliding action. The bearings (bronze lined) were taken off of the vertical slide of a router boring X-Y-Z table. The slide bars on the machine are fine polished 316. My bars are 303 which are not that... -
