Yep, first time i ever farked up in my whole life and you caught me! If you believe that, i got a bridge to sell you. I set this job aside for a day and made parts. Fortunately, I got time to repair/upgrade this 10EE. Helps keep the temperature down when you can walk away when pissed or...

    tear down 10EE backgear

I am taking a 10EE backgear apart down to the casting. Got in trouble removing the shifting fork. There were two 3/8 nuts holding what I think is a taper pin on each fork. First I loosened the nuts and gave them a whack - no joy. Hit it harder - no joy. Now the threads are buggered so i ground...

What material for industrial snowblower auger

My friend and neighbor was supervisor at a place that made augers for twenty years. I know for a fact that they made blower augers for 100 hp size tractors. I was in the plant many times as my son worked there for a few years. There was a LOT of custom bending equipment as they made augers from...

    Roller chain steel material.

I should add that I still needed that special clip that comes with a master link. So, I got boxes and boxes of master links missing the clip.

    Roller chain steel material.

My FMC apple packing line uses roller chain and then custom parts to attach cups. The machine is from the 70s and no longer supported. I made up a bunch of custom parts that hold cups to roller chain out of 4140 pre hard. They have lasted years.

I'll be drilling 1018 steel 1.125 deep with this 1/4 drill mill: https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/06298731 Part of the cut is interrupted - metal on one side only. Plan to use G83 peck cycle and air line to blow chip out - no flood on this milling machine. What speeds feeds and peck...

    Cut gaskets on the waterjet

I am sure a laser would be nice. just like to use what I got. The other, similar, thread suggested OSB backers and straight water to cut foam. I'll try that for gaskets.

    Cut gaskets on the waterjet

do you use a sacrificial top and bottom out of metal?

    Cut gaskets on the waterjet

The question on cutting foam prompted this query. I'd like to make say ten gaskets at a time. Should I "make a sandwich"? That is a layer of cheap steel or AL, layers of gasket material, then another layer of cheap metal. Then cut conventionally with abrasive. Or is there a better way?
