Thanks to everyone's advice, I got it apart. spent a couple hours making a custom "C" clamp. probably over built it by a factor of ten. Pins came right out.- Karl_T

OK, I am stuck on removing the gear and shaft. See pic, its still in there. The <bad> bearing on the gear looks to be froze on. Might wiggle out if I could find a way to press the bearing off. suggestions? Or am I missing something STUPID?- Karl_T

mid 50s for year, early square dial with MG set. don't remember exact date. I will try that right now. <EDIT> can't get at it from the back side, does not line up with hole where main bearing was.- Karl_T

I am taking a 10EE backgear apart down to the casting. Got in trouble removing the shifting fork. There were two 3/8 nuts holding what I think is a taper pin on each fork. First I loosened the nuts and gave them a whack - no joy. Hit it harder - no joy. Now the threads are buggered so i ground...- Karl_T

What material for industrial snowblower auger
My friend and neighbor was supervisor at a place that made augers for twenty years. I know for a fact that they made blower augers for 100 hp size tractors. I should add that I still needed that special clip that comes with a master link. So, I got boxes and boxes of master links missing the clip. -

My FMC apple packing line uses roller chain and then custom parts to attach cups. The machine is from the 70s and no longer supported. I made up a bunch of custom parts that hold cups to roller chain out of 4140 pre hard. They have lasted years. -

I am sure a laser would be nice. just like to use what I got. The other, similar, thread suggested OSB backers and straight water to cut foam. I'll try that for gaskets.- Karl_T

Cut gaskets on the waterjet
The question on cutting foam prompted this query. I'd like to make say ten gaskets at a time. Should I "make a sandwich"? That is a layer of cheap steel or AL, layers of gasket material, then another layer of cheap metal. Then cut conventionally with abrasive. Or is there a better way?- Karl_T
