    How deep should I bore soft jaws?

    My cnc lathe has a 6” hydraulic chuck and hydraulic tailstock. I’m trying to machine a part, stock material size is 2.75” OD 14.50” long solid 1045 steel bar. My question is how deep should I bore the chuck jaws to hold this material?, I will be using the tailstock and live center.

    Tangential tool holders versus traditional turning tool

    Anybody try the Iscar LNMX or Kennametal Fxi8 tangential tools for rough turning? Currently I’m using CNMG for rough turning, I’m just wondering if a tangential insert tool would remove metal faster than my CNMG insert tool? Are either of these tangential inserts good at facing parts?

    programming milltronics cnc lathe with centurion 7 ?

    Gusher 8P3 coolant pump quit
