So, I got this little Hardinge vise for my BB2V mill - It was VERY cheap, but of course it was broken, exactly where many, if not most of them break.
There was an attempted repair, poorly done, using epoxy putty.
The break was stuck together, putting the little block & cap that the screw passes...
I see this lathe is for sale over on OWWM - No connection to me.
But it's cheap, and looks like it comes with a lot of stuff, and thought it might be of interest to someone here. Located in Ohio.

Saw this on another forum, and was curious - It came with a Clausing Colchester lathe, L-0 mount, and I have no idea what it would be used for. Anyone know?
Over the weekend I picked up this little wet / dry grinder at a garage sale, more out of curiosity than need. Interestingly, the guy I bought it from taught clock repair, and HE didn't know what it was :~)
The tag says "L&R Crystal Grinder". I've found NO info or even another photo of this...
I picked up a couple Jacobs super chucks recently, a newer style US made 16N, and this older 14 (note, not marked 14N, just No.14, but engraved "ball bearing super chuck")
Anyway, The 14 has a 1" straight arbor, and I want to change it to MT2. I've swapped a number of arbors on Jacobs chucks...
I saw this lathe for sale on FB Marketplace - I have no interest in it, as it's too big for me, but the seller posted a photo of the factory tag, and it brought up a question.
The lathe is labeled as a 16", but the ID plate says the "Actual Swing" is something very different.
What's the story...
Well, it's a request for an antique part, so I'm not supposed to list it in the official want ads.
I'm looking for a follow rest for a 10" Sheldon "L" series lathe - The machine is from the early / mid 1940's.
Anyways, thanks
I recently got a Hardinge BB2V mill, that came with collets, but no collet closer draw bar - Obviously, I need to make one.
Does anyone have a draw bar they could measure? It would help me get started.
I know the collets have a 7/16"x26 internal thread, but that's about all I know :~)
Thanks.
I have a Hardinge Cataract BB57 lathe that I've had for some years, but only recently cleaned up and put back in use - It was missing the little cover plate that has the serial number, but I thought that maybe the experts here could ID the year of manufacture.
The spindle is 5C, and the tail...
I got this link from over on the OWWM site, and thought it pretty interesting - The wave of the future ?
Looks expensive, though ;)

I recently bought this Hitachi VFD, to power a 2 hp milling machine motor :
AC Drives | Variable Torque VFD | NES1-015SB - Driveswarehouse
It's either 3 or 1 phase input, but it's unclear from the manual, which terminals to use for single phase.
Or does it not matter ?
Thanks for any info.
Hi -
First time on this forum, but not new to PM, mostly on the antique machinery forum.
I'm hoping maybe that someone here might have some info on my new old milling machine.
Anyway, I bought this mill a couple a couple months ago, and finally got it home this weekend.
It's a "Macut", and the...
I've agreed to buy this mill from a friend of mine -
The mill is a "Macut", which I think is an Italian machine , but I can't find a reference to the maker anywhere .
The price is VERY right, and I've seen a video of it in action -
Making aluminum chips, and leaving a very nice finish .
It...
Maybe this should be posted in "Needs Saving" ?
Metal Fabrication / Drill Press
No affiliation , etc , etc , but I wanted to post it here in the interest of saving the machines if possible .
Maybe something here that someone wants .

I'm trying to get this drill :
From Kennewick Wa , to Florida .
Maybe sometime before the next turn of the century ;~)
It's a C-O #24 Bench Drill , about 32" tall , under 100 lbs .
Is there any travel east from there , or through there ?
Maybe down to CA , where it might find easier...
I need a top pulley/jack shaft guard , for a Walker-Turner ram type radial drill .
I have a Rockwell era machine (early 60's) , but I believe any year guard will fit , from the earliest machines , to the later Delta version - All the same .
Thanks ,
Tom
If anyone is going to The OWAMMO meet in Branson MO , and is ALSO going anywhere near Waterloo Iowa , I'd love to get in touch !
I need a 14" wood/metal band saw brought down from Waterloo to the OWAMMO meet - Apr 16-17 .
If I can get it there , it can get a ride down south from there .
I'm...
I'm in the process of buying this band saw :
It's a Racine Tool & Machine Co , 14" wood & metal band saw .
The saw has a couple interesting features - the table pivots instead of tilting , and it has an 8/1 gear box to drop the speed for metal cutting . Also , that is the standard motor...
I have a commercially made rotary converter - 3 hp Cedarburg "heavy duty" model .
I bought this , used , to run a 3 hp band saw .
Well , before I even got to set it up for the band saw , I came across a really nice 12" table saw , with a 5 hp , 3 ph motor .
I understand that I can "piggy...
