LB10 with Fanuc spindle drive error AL-20

further testing and the problem is intermittent so I don't think it is the phase supply. One of the remedies for AL20 is to check the control boards connections and a clean has the drive booting sometimes without error. other times it still has the al-20. maybe a dry joint somewhere. Now I’m...

LB10 with Fanuc spindle drive error AL-20

Does anyone have any experience with Fanuc drive errors? I was getting a high current alarm Al-12 and sent the drive in for repair, now the drive is giving AL20 high current on one phase - checked on startup. The dive has a not ready signal so the control is booting with an alarm state an estop...

    Orphaned controls, best to retro.

At least P&W used a Fanuc control. The one good thing about fanuc is that the techs can still fix their controls no matter what age (id stay clear of the DC stuff). Okuma while they claim "never obsolete” they are due to the lack of support well that’s how it is in Australia. Most of the 80’s...

    Orphaned controls, best to retro.

I have been looking into retro fitting a machine because I'm sick of trying to repair obsolete Fanuc drives and boards. second-hand prices are through the roof and repairers want big $ also. I found SZGH that will sell a whole 3+ axis system for about twice the cost of an old fanuc drive. I...

Fanuc OM using IO:0 when IO:1 is selected?

it is a OM-A system it is labled M75. I have a circuit diagram of the com ports and it is connected to rs232 chips through the right pins.

Fanuc OM using IO:0 when IO:1 is selected?

the cable is directly to a honda connector port r/p 2 on the main board.

Fanuc OM using IO:0 when IO:1 is selected?

I'm having communications issues on a OM systems. I can output programs from the control to the PC but I can’t import. Searches indicate it is most likely a bad chip on the board. so I'm trying to use R/P 2 on the board to see if I can avoid replacing chips (it has two separate circuits for...

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

the only switches on the board are the 4 for parameter entry. after checking the drive dosn't even have the alarm fuse. There is a test jumper switch that sets test and drive.

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

thanks Vancbiker. I don't have the ARS but the manual above indicates there is an alarm fuse. I'll try pulling that and see if it clears the spindle error. I'll try probing the B and E with the clip on the B with an isolated scope.

    pratt whitney tape drillmate questions??

you definatly need a locking bar. use some steel bar and some T-nuts to secure the the table to the column. the z axis is braked but Lower it down onto a wooden block on the table. do you have a circuit diagram for the spindle drive?

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

it is the details of using an oscilloscope to check the wave forms that I don't understand. "Apply normal rotation and reverse rotation commands. (The velocity command is Orpm) Observe the base-emitter' waveform of each transistor (U,V,W regenerative circuits) at CN6 and CN7 connectors by...

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

I'm not sure of the gate driver terminology. I'm checking the top board as per the manual in the pic below. Faulty is below ~-0.8V and the circuit I know is faulty is below -0.8V. but all my other tansistors across two drives read about ~-2.2V which is high but not in the faulty range. Not in...

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

thanks for checking. Any advice is helpful to confirm I’m doing the tests correctly. it seems most people give up at this point and send it to a repairer so there is very little information on these checks apart from the somewhat cryptic manuals.

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

I’m working on a A06b-6059-h003 that I know has a bad drive circuit as it had shorts. I'm also working on a A06B-6055-h208 that has a bad IGBT module but no blown fuses. I need to confirm the drive circuit before I power it up as IGBT's are too expensive to burn up on tests. I have the drive...

    Fanuc spindle drive tests?

does anyone have experience with checking the wave forms on the drive boards of Fanuc spindles? All my boards test high for the driver b-e voltage test and I want to confirm function via the wave form test but need some guidance.

Okuma LB15 turn center.... how does spindle brake work ?

Dragging up this thread to see if anyone has the manual for the a06b-6055-h208 drive? my okuma has alarm 12 and need to test the IGBT modules. my manual lists the 6044 series fanuc drives but not the one it has. I checked the manual recomended on the first page but it covers the 6044 drives but...

lb10 curvic alignment droops after tool change

thanks rob. I think my procedure was incorrect. I went back and tried again I figured out I was removing the hydraulic clamping force and aligning to the then floating tool drum. when the hydraulics returned it pulled it out of alignment. I changed my procedure and it stayed aligned after a few...

lb10 curvic alignment droops after tool change

I'm trying to align an old okuma Lb10. after my initial alignment it started drilling nasty holes so I checked and there was an obvious misalignment. I realigned the drill as it was pointing down slightly. tested a hole and re-ran the program to find that the drill was off centre again. I...
