Dear Sir, I know you must get a lot of these notes asking about Henley machines. It looks as though you are the holder of the information and parts source. Is this still true?
I am just starting a rebuild and am really falling in love with this machine. First time I have been into something...
Good morning guys. Just wanted to update and let you guys know how I was coming on the Henley. I have the carriage and tailstock all painted and ready for reassembly. I didn't take the worm gears in the apron apart as there was only about 14 thou.play I did clean with kerosene very well and will...
I wonder if theses pictures help anyone with history. There are some orange painted on letters and numbers on top of the headstock that look to me like they were painted on bare cast metal.all paint layers are on top of them and its bare underneath them. some way to id them during manufacture...
You know I don't see much of that so far...only into the carriage so far but I can't tell if anyone has been here before me. I love seeing all the hand file marks and hand scraped mating surfaces. I will for sure measure the keys. As I don't have those worms apart yet I hadn't determined how...
Your guys are great. Your right that the worm gear collars are left hand. they are stamped as such. The tool you show Paolo is going to be the way to hold it for sure. Better than trying to use the lead screw. The ones on the back are not stamped left hand I guess I just wasn't using enough...
OK Guys, I have the carriage all torn down to the two worm gears that are keyed to the lead screw that transfer power to the feed. The collars that hold these worm gears captive in the housing have a set screw coming in from the side. After removing the small screws I still can't get any...
I am moving up to this Hendey from a 13x40 enco lathe. I have been using carbide for most things for awhile and thats why I was asking about speeding it up some. I will for sure try things as they are. You guys are the best! Thank you for any and all suggestions.

so knowing that I have the Timken Roller bearings...Does that mean I can run it a bit faster with no harm? I understand proper oiling. It is littered with oil cups. So far the gears look great form looking in the top. I am still working on getting the carriage appart. and off the lead screw. I...
I was wondering what TRB was stamped there for. Thank you guys for this info. I am going for the full teardown. Most things look great as far as wear on bed and dings...The oil sight windows are all dried and almost look like they have been close to a fire. But the three layers or so of paint is...
Thank you Johnoder, Any advice on overspeeding this machine with a vfd to increase my top spindle speed? Thank you for the link to the Manual also. I will be spending some quality time reading through that.
Hello all I am new here and first want to say thank you to all the folks who post here and teach so many people so much.
I just bought a 12x30" Henldey Lathe. The serial# is 35066. Does that mean it is a 1935 model? It also will swing 14 " easy. so why do they call it a 12? Thanks in advance...
