I just acquired a vintage Praire Wet Grindstone that is in great condition, however, I would like to replace the wetstone. Does anyone have any good resources on who would potentially have a replacement stone. This one is a little out of round (not flat) and I'd like one not as course as this...
I'm in search for a 1/2" OD mandrel that is threaded at each end (1/2" - 20).
The only mandrel I'm able to find that is threaded 1/2" - 20 at each end comes in a 5/8 OD shaft, like the one in the picture.
Any suggestion on who might have a 1/2" shaft/mandrel that is also threaded 1/2" - 20?
I'll be drilling 12 2" diameter holes about 1.75" deep in baltic birch 11 ply, plywood and I'd like a good quality forstner bit for this task.
I've heard there are some nice ones out of Sweden as well as Germany, but don't know the brands of them or any that are quality.
I'm in need of 3 thru bolts for my repulsion induction electric motor.
The size of the thru bolt is 5/16 - 18 and 11 3/4 inches in length.
Anyone have any good resources on who has/manufactures these without a minimum order?
Thank you
Is the slight forward and aft movement of the shaft a normal movement of this Delco, single phase, 1.5 HP repulsion induction motor?
I just picked it up locally that was on a working air compressor, according to the seller.
I'm going to tear it down for a general cleanup and possible bearing...
My Delta table saw has a 5" pulley on a 1725 RPM motor and a 2.5" pulley on the table saw shaft, this will yield the desired 3100 RPM for optimal performance.
My 1725 motor is no good anymore and I have a 3450 RPM motor that would make a great replacement.
How do I achieve the desired 3100...
Looking for suggestions on prying or pulling the bearings from a Harrington chain fall.
I have no access to the other side of the bearing and was curious the best method on removal.
Thank you,
Anyone have any good resources on torsion springs?
I had one snap on me and will likely replace the 4 of them due to the state my brush assembly is currently in.
Thank you
I'm posting some images of a recently acquired muffle furnace and was curious if there are any consumable parts/pieces that should be replaced prior to putting into use.
Based on the age of the furnace, I'd feel more comfortable refurbing or replacing components while I learn more about them...
Has anyone removed the cutterhead from a 12" Foley Belsaw or a similar design?
I've taken it as far as I'm comfortable with at this point. I'm putting a little more force than I think is necessary with my gear pullers, as I grab the casting. I'm backing off at this point, in fear of...
WTB machinist square and straight edge
I'm looking for someone who has a redundancy of machinist squares.
I'm having problems with my wood jointer setup and would like a shorter 6" square to check my fence and table alignment. I'd also like a good straight edge to use as I align my infeed and...
A local high school is closing their wood shop and this Rockwell/Delta band saw is available for me to scoop up.
Just curious on this unit's reputation and quality.
I didn't grab a picture of the model number, but I do have a serial number and a couple quick snapshots.
It is in working...
WTB a well cared for ball venier micrometer, such as this one.
The anvil or ball would need to accept a tube or case opening of .200". In other words, the diameter of the micrometer's ball head would need to have a diameter of less than .200".
I’m wanting to build an aluminum framed table (18”H x 48”L x 30”W) that can hold a weight of about 300 lbs. This will be a fire pit table, so my joints can’t be those composite T fasteners. I was curious what the best method would be for adjoining the tubing pieces that meet.
I have access to...
Anyone have a 6' lathe they can turn a flag pole out of Ash for me?
The bottom of the flag pole will be approx 2" diameter and the top will be around 1.625".
I'll go over the detailed measurements once I find someone to commission for the small project.
Thank you,
Chuck
