Power Cable W/ a structural guide wire inside the jacketing???

WOW!!!!!!!!! You really put some thought into this. Thank you very much for that. I already have TWO GFCI circuits on my house (one in the downstairs soffit and one upstairs) but I might run a 3rd circuit after reading your comments on resistance and the speed of the magnetic trip. I ended up...

Power Cable W/ a structural guide wire inside the jacketing???

Thank you for taking the time to reply, and sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I have been up to my eyeballs in fabrication work so I haven't been on social. The lamp pole in fact does have a counter-acting guide wire on the other side, so the pole remains in a straight alignment.

Power Cable W/ a structural guide wire inside the jacketing???

EDIT: Sorry if this is SUPER off topic for this section of the website. I am trying to save myself a couple steps in my Christmas Lighting Display, and was wondering if this type of cable... - Already exists - Is an economical option Longest span will be around 300' from turnbuckle to...

Bungee Cord Halloween Scare. Need help with the physics...

Thanks for helping me switch gears on this project ;) I only wanted to use the bungee idea because I HAVE IT and I thought it would eliminate a good bit of electronics from the system. But once i started down the line of having the 1/10HP motor retract the figure, electronics came back into...

Bungee Cord Halloween Scare. Need help with the physics...

I think I understand your curved lever idea. We would start with the lever in the 3 o'clock (horizontal position, having the most counterweight force acting against the bungee cord), and then as the scare creature moves forward the lever starts to rotate CCW towards the 12 o'clock position...

Bungee Cord Halloween Scare. Need help with the physics...

    Measurements.... Started at 52' unloaded length. 10' stretch = 10lbs tension 20' stretch = 13lbs tension 30' stretch = 15lbs tension 40' stretch = 19lbs tension 50' stretch = 23lbs tension 60' stretch = 29lbs tension 70' stretch = 43lbs tension 74' maximum length = 48lbs tension So not exactly...

Bungee Cord Halloween Scare. Need help with the physics...

I want to create a halloween scare setup that will feature an 1/8" 7x7 wire rope that will be suspended between a house and a tree or light pole (depending on the results from this thread LOL ). I was going to secure one end of a 50' long, 1/2" diameter, polypropylene wrapped bungee cord. This...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

I did not remove the inlet screen, but i did look it over from the outside and it looked to be in good condition. I bought a cheap hour meter and will get that installed soon. This way i know how many hours the oil has been used for. IR recommends 2000 hours for the oil change with the...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

HOLY CRAP, that was disgusting!!!!! I am sooooooo glad you told me to do this. I never would have thought that the crank case would hold so much nasty old oil and junk down in the bottom of the unit. There was roughly 3/4" thick of sludgy, milky, nasty oil that i had to suck out with a small...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

I finally got the new unloader rebuild kit installed, and it is now obvious to me why I was getting the results from my post earlier in this thread. I said it right in my testing procedure... "The following sequence was performed with roughly 30 PSI in the receiver tank (leftover air from...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

Thanks for the heads up. I will do that when I get some downtime. I have that exact oil on hand and will be swapping over to it once I have everything worked out. I did use quaker state high mileage oil on the last refill because REAL compressor oil is not cheap. I didn't want to refill with...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

THANK YOU so much for spending the time and holding my hand through this ;) !!! I bought my QR-350 at a local auction from a metal fab shop that made pressurized tanks (similar to what the compressor is sitting on and much larger) so it was rode hard and put away VERY wet and dirt for many...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

Thank you. I got distracted with my dog being sick so I didn't end up calling Quincy yesterday about local service, but if you look through those pages it doesn't show any companies in Jacksonville, and if directs you to the Palm Coast (over an hour away) section of their website and they don't...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

Can someone please take the 5 minutes to explain the dynamics at work on this unloader, because my brain is not putting the pieces together on how the system actually works based on the drawing. This is my current understanding... When there is no oil pressure, the radiator cap looking Piston...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

I called everyone I could find in Jacksonville in the compressor business and none of them have parts for quincy, and they said there wasn't a distributor in Florida for some reason. I did order the repair kit that MacMcMacmac linked to so i should hopefully have it by Oct 2nd per my order...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

Okay so i found a SUPER overpriced rubber supplier ($15 for that single 1 1/2" OD o-ring) that had a very freaking close match to the "V" Ring that Quincy uses and I found a much better match for the QuadRing as well (for $3 in a package of 10). Test #1 The following sequence was performed with...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

New update... I bled the air pressure down to around 20 psi and carefully unscrewed the Cap #11 all the way and allowed the air to blow #9 and #10 out of the assembly and into my hands. I then reassembled it and I could spin the flywheel freely like it was unloaded. I turned on the power and...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

Thank you but I do not have a Revbase account so i can't follow that link. I did receive a reply from quincy and they said I have the QR 350 ROC 15, but they said the ROC 17 & 18 parts manual would work just fine for me, which they sent an attachment for. I did some redneck engineering for a...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

I am still waiting on a reply from Quincy that will tell me my exact model and hopefully they can point me in the right direction for a service manual. I have no idea where the oil pressure relief is, nor where the oil pump is. Do any of you guys have a troubleshooting chart or some pages...

Quincy 350 Compressor won't build more than 20PSI...

Unless the unloader is doing the opposite (like mine) and allowing the compressor to make air, even when the oil pressure seems low. ;) It seems weird that a safety feature like that would fail in the wrong way.
