Yeah if I'm hand writing I do what you just stated, the cam software has a default feed plane of .2 and a default clearance plane of .400 above the feed plane. The .062 was the stock to be faced off and it applies all those defaults to the programmed stock face.
I write and read gcode code as well for both my mills and lathes but I also use CAM on our regular products that I have my employees run. I use fusion 360 and they don't have the exact post processors for all the machines I have, I have had to edit my post many times and this was just another...

Hi i have a Hwacheon Cutex 240 with live tooling/subspindle and when i try to use the Main spindle to rigid tap it goes counter clockwise feeding into the part and then clockwise reversing out of the part? How can i reverse that order so i can to right handed taps?

yes we have a 40 ton crane as well as jib cranes, we have the machine in a bay with 40 feet in front of it and 20 feet next to it open. we have a smaller boring mill currently but its so old ( has a General numeric control) that i just dont feel like it can be quoted as a "boring mill" its a...
Were starting to get in to larger work for our own production needs and are looking at buying a CNC boring mill. a Kuraki with full rotary table. has travels around 70 inches. Whats a shop rate you guys normally charge for a machine like this?
Im comfortable quoting work on VMC's and lathe with...
Hi guys, I have 1000 rings to make on a lathe. .940 O.D x .677 I.D and .06 thick. Making the part is easy. But deburring is slowing the process down. Currently we're using a pencil grinder because they're so thin its hard to use whirly knives or debur with a countersink. And it's so thin with a...
I did ask because it was 17 inches long, so I know the width is 1 inch wide and im guessing the depth is as mtndew has stated for the 1/2 depth on the wall. But it didn't call out a sled runner radius so I figured I'd just go to the source.
Thanks guys!
I have a print that calls for a 1x 1/2 standard keyseat. What is the actual keyseat depth for a callout like that, I dont see anything in the machinery handbook for keyseat called out that way.
Thanks in advanced
Hey guys i was wondering if anyone had a maintance manual, programming manual, electrical manual to a Daewoo DMV4020LS manual they could send me? its a 2006 Fanuc 21i-Mb control.
Thanks in advanced
I was curious what you guys have come up with as far as ideas on how to align features from one side of a part to the other on a lathe with live tooling.
I need to keep two holes in line with each other on a 1.5 inch diameter pin. 12 inches long. Each hole is .500 from the end of pin.
