I have the gearbox off my 10ee so the headstock bolts are easy to access. The previous owner had removed the headstock sometime in the past. I'd like to check the tork on the bolts before reassembly.
Anybody know the tork specks for the headstock bolts in the motor compartment?

I had a woodruff key come loose in the gearbox of my square dial lathe. It prevented me from being able to engage the powerfeed. After a lot of hassel, I fished out out. Before I put it back into the machine, I want too dig into it to determine where it came from and why...
Vettbob, maybe I'm overlooking it but how are you getting lubrication to the ways? It appears that your inserts are covering the oil channels..... Or, did you machine them after the scrape job (and photo)?
I read somewhere about being able to jam the gib and lock it up. Mine is locked on both ends to prevent this...e.g. loosen one side and tighten the other to adjust.
Also, ill bet your x travel issue is in the gearbox/motor because there must have been a hell of a lot of force on it to make that break. In fact, I wonder if that 3/4 hp motor could even do it!
