I have a modular table. With a properly dimensioned blue print its easy to lay out all the locators etc every time. Watch this video from Fireball tool, he kind of explains the process fairly well. Welded jigs I feel are old school and take up too much room. In the time it would take you to find...
I can guarantee you my shop overhead for a shop out in the country on the farm is way lower than the guy downtown with a fancy building. Add in that what might be difficult for you is bread and butter for another shop and rates vary.
I only bid by the job not the hour, as was said above if I...
Yes, some of the smaller ones are "foundationless". Generally they have a larger base plate with more holes. I have seen pics of those that ripped the floor out and tipped over though so make sure the floor is as thick as you think it is and the anchors are aproved and full depth. The style I...
Essentially yes. The cube is pinned into surrounding concrete as well. Can look here and see that larger cranes get pretty large bases under them.
Chart 2b about halfway down : https://www.lkgoodwin.com/more_info/baseplate_mounted_jib_crane/fs300_baseplate_mounted_jib_crane_1_ton.shtml
Not sure, has been several months though.
Took me awhile to find it as I usually drew holes and cut extrude, then use thread command to add threads, but if you use the points on a sketch and the hole command it does counterbores and all that jazz in one step, plus handles NPT.
Oh, and the farm picked up a new 3 wheeler this fall. have a lot of little things to fix up on it and get the GPS wired in so I can spread some Lime this coming spring... Drove it home from about 35 miles away, went good but 25mph was smooth, 26 bounced you off the cab roof..
It has a remote...
The fab side of the shop slowed a bunch this year as main customer re-arranged some dealers. Hopefully will be starting back up soon in the new year on that job. Otherwise the machining side has been busier than ever before and keeps me pretty busy. Wish I could show some of the parts I've made...
Rear crane has an air hoist for gentle positioning, still need to run a proper air supply to it. Front one has a 2 speed electric hoist
Can see the vacuum sheet lifter I built on the plasma table. That thing has been a life saver, so much easier then man handling 5x10 sheets of 16-10ga steel...
Well, must be time for an update. Lets see since last time I picked up a couple jib cranes and finally got them installed this last year. Why did I wait so long... One is set up to reach the Haas, Alpha lathe, Manual mill and almost reaches the turning center (used to have a 12' arm, but...
It does them just fine for holes.
Sketch points where you want the holes
-Create hole
-Hole Tap type = Taper tapped
-Thread type = NPT or whatever else.
Then when thread milling it follows the taper
I wish it would do male threads as easily, maybe I just havent found it yet.
I picked up a Continuum 350 with dual feeder. I really like the dual setup as one side with 90/10 other with 75/25 gives me one for heavy pulse and one for thin stuff.
Miller 350P mig welder with Reach feeder on 25ft cables. 2 Bernard torches, 2 regulators, pile of consumables for both torches. Wire included, cylinders not included. With the dual torch setup you can tap trigger on either torch and machine switches to the setup and brings up last settings for...

Two 4x4's under the bed and a telehandler with fork extensions (possibly rent for a 6 pack from the construction project down the road) from the head end, shove er right in the door.. Its only 1200 lbs, don't overthink it, crap the bucket for my telehandler probably weighs more than that on its...
I believe it is the same iron all over. I have a 15S here. If Im thinking of the blocks you mean, they are just a small flat bar with 2 screws through the side and 3 dome head bolts to squeeze the tool holder in. Can be switched for running tools upside down or vice versa.
