    Feeler Machines

    GBI Lamb sent me some info on Feeler CNC machining centers so im going to the experts. anybody run/use these? seems they are more capable than Fadal/Haas the feedrates are the same as Mazak and less expensive than either Mazak or Fadal. so what say ye?...jim

    ratio on tramming BP head

    i was having a discussion today at work while tramming in the head of a BP and i remarked that there should be a ratio to apply to reamming the head front to rear. i was wondering if any of you, HOOD ,could fill me in on this? i could calculate it out i suppose but im in a lazy mood tonight...jim

    i posted this over on the BP section but in 3 hrs. i only got one response which didnt answer the question completely. im running a 2J varispeed BP and the spindle cap became loose. im required to hold +-.0002" insize and a 62 finish. the finish started to go away, its on a semi finishing cut...

    where im working the spindle nose cap backed out and almost killed some parts. its a 2J head vari-speed and it seems like i remember that there should be .008" gap between the nut and the end of the quill to properly preload the bearings. what say ye BP sages i need to do this correctly not by...
