Good to know. I must have been into the red wine at the first post, as the motor to intermediate pulley is indeed a V-belt. Luckily, both look to be relatively new. That machine has turned out to be quite handy over the years.
Just to add, they make a special sheetrock with a elastomer in the middle for these applications. Also heavy weight cotton sound insulation, made from ground up denim. And heavy mass vinyl sheeting to seal the insulation before you apply the special sheetrock.
Just for reference, on mine, 59EE, the bearing and switches do not share the same compartment. The actuating shafts for the switches are the only access between the two. It would be difficult to foul the switches with oil in this arrangement.
Memory for me is useless here, but I show what looks like a seal EE 2793, but at $165.(my note in the parts dia.) that seem a bit expensive for a seal, maybe something else. Btw, mine weeps as well...sigh. At this point, I don't care.
My experience is, if that beveled round tracking disc , the thing that rides against the ways is worn, the unit is worthless. And last time time I checked, that part is NLA.
Last time I dealt with SWI, it seems the owner died and the wife was just selling off what was left, and there wasn't much. I agree this new Trav-A Dial thing is really looking bogus to me.
I have a couple of Bisons, set-tru , collet chucks, very good quality, at least they were a few years ago. Used to be great price wise but have gotten a lot more expensive, but no complaints from me.
If you have an engine rebuilder facility around, they usually have boiling vats to clean engine blocks and such. This will work very well to clean your castings of everything, paint, oil etc. Of course you'll need to strip down the components to nothing. I don't know if this would be available...
