I wonder what it was like working in those days...I'd imagine it was rough going...but what was the quality of life?

I myself can relate being raised in a old machine shop when I was in diapers! The old machine shop is still in business too!

I myself can relate being raised in a old machine shop when I was in diapers! The old machine shop is still in business too!

It can’t be me, I was a breast fed baby.

As to lifting the vertical borer main casting, I’m not too keen on the angle of the chains. The capacity of a chain sling goes down dramatically once you go through 90 degrees.

Reminds me of one I was first learning in 88. Daughter was born the end of July. We had one car. I'd drive my family over to shop (we had one machine in a rented space) after the day job and meet my mom and dad. Ladies would sit on the other side of the shop while the old man taught me how to run some large pistons on a Cim-X.
