deployed torpedo netting around ship anchorage

The torpedo net for San Francisco bay was made and mainteined at San Quintin prison at the northern end of the golden gate bridge.

Yes they also had prisoners welding round buoys to support the nets there as well for other locations as well. They had a bunch of Lincoln engine drives out there. They where welding out in the industries yard. No transformers welders as the entire island as DC voltage, generated on site.
