They changed their minds allowing supplies and money to flow once more and then the fall of Vietnam came.

Despite what Congress did, cancelling further funding, the supplies were already slated and Nixon was ready to ship them when the bad news came from Israel. It saved them from almost certain destruction but the loss of the supplies did leave South Vietnam in a tough spot.

I think the Afghan debacle will be only a smaller part of it. The flood of migrants across the border will have a more serious and long lasting effect domestically and worse yet is the upcoming doubling of the capital gains tax. Right now a lot of ordinary people don't know they are among the "rich" who will be bilked. Many will discover the hard way when they inherit mom and dad's modest home and sell it to divide the inheritance among siblings.

Capital gains tax is just part of it. When people see how deeply the "tax the rich" schemes hit THEM .

That is interesting. I never heard Nixon mention that really yet it does make sense. I will check it out. Realize that the War in Israel was 1973 and Israel used a lot of Tanks and Jets. Quite a bit of the equipment left was placed into service when Cambodia was invaded.

The law is not only for homes.

The law is mostly for businesses. Family businesses. Like delis, laundries, mom and pop groceries, and the big one, FARMS. Around here a 14 mill farm is small to medium sized when you include land.

Why should the government get a piece of a businesses that has paid taxes for decades to the government already?

Sure there are dickhead landlords that don't do shit and simply trade on the market value of a property to make money, but they are the same as the family farmer in the eyes of the law.

Looks like I got a break through case, and I got two Moderna jabs the last in the first week of April. Been sick for a week, thought I just had flu with no fever, but it fits Covid for a jabbed person as they get milder cases. Just got body aches and fatigue. Body aches gone, fatigue slowly going away. I figure no need for a test. I will just self quarantine.
