I'm attempting to get a drive system put together for my 10ee square dial I'm restoring and the vfd setup it came with didn't have the back gear. Does anybody have one they are willing to part with? I know it will be a good bit of work to adapt. I'm not in a hurry, it will be a while before I've got everything reassembled.

There's a guy in Virginia who has this gearbox adapted to an AC motor and VFD listed on Facebook:

I had a very similar setup... the motor died and when I tried to replace the motor I had an issue with the clearance between the motor and the cabinet. Mine is a 57, so originally a WIAD machine. If you look at the rear of the motor, it has been modified to fit in the cabinet. I think the issue is the use of the older bell housing.

I'm the guy in Virginia,This gearbox and motor came from a 1968 model with 4000 rpm spindle speed,Its 3 horsepower, also I have vfd but its been many years since it was removed so I can't say if it will work or not,The brand was ABB for the vfd

And yes I had to modify the fan cover a bit to fit it ,I machined the c face adaptor to fit the gear box and added to the motor shaft (I think this one had splines). The lathe also had elsr and we wired everything up to work like factory. It ran great but the machine had been ran with the carriage oiler not working before I got it,took a toll on the ways.

Slightly old thread - I have not been active for quite a while. I think I have a back gear box with all parts. I will need to check if it’s actually complete.
