1997 VF3 high speed machining

I have just got a 1997 Haas VF3

On the parameter list there is no option for high speed machining but I know it was available on these earlier machines so what was the deal ?

This machine had a board upgrade in 2012 and it has the Coprocessor and it also has the software version F which I believe was the floating point which was required for the high speed or 1000 block look ahead as it was earlier known

I’m curious as to whether this machine could actually be equipped with high speed machining already somehow but there is no real way to be sure if there is no option on the parameter list but it has the correct Coprocessor and floating point software

Mocon 17.10 FV 1.09
software 9.64F 04-09-21

Thanks
Marc

Hi M K, If you search for some of my threads, I cover some of this in a few posts in greater detail. Yes, you have the F prom BIN file which required the CoPro. so your good there. Version 9.64 is the final V9 release. If you purchased this 1000 block look-ahead, it was a precursor to HFM as it evolved. Limited as you think of HFM today. Its a Yes/No item the white sticker in the rear door. If that is a "yes" then you still need the unlock code for that to work. It'll need to be 'unlocked usual way.
Maybe boards down the road were just moved around and I've had and heard some folks note they ended up w/ a F/CoPro but the option for 1000Block read was not. You have the 'stuff' but did it get purchased when it was bought? If so, call for the code and unlock.

Now- See my other posts as 10.37 ( version 10 series) was also the Final V10 released and had a bit more around HFM as things go if I recall but was still 1K block look ahead w/ some more parms to fine tune.... I've moved on from Haas the last year so things are a bit fuzzy. You could talk to your HFO and see if they even could bump ya? You should be able to use that CPU with V. 10 but there are MoCon rev considerations possibly on a 97 (pretty old).
btw.. Is this a AC brushless?

Adding a bit more.. As noted by finger crush (love that badge...) It's more than just the 1K blocks... it's the usual tweaking and experimenting. There are a lot of posts on this and how to use G187++ ...
example

Thanks for the reply’s

It is not ticked on the rear door spec sheet but what is strange is it is not even in the parameters list as an option at all so even if I wanted to purchase it there is t actually any high speed parameter to unlock?

Hey folks -
M K , I called my Son. He's the Haas Machinist and does the chine' setups. He said on V9, yeah, there is no specific setting he knows of. In the common switches in Parms V9, it's not listed in the 96, nor 98 manuals. In the 2001 manual, V10+ I assume, it's in Common Switches 315

I searched around and did some reading in other forums; I cannot locate a reference on an unlock param flag/setting in there. Is this a possible scenario: The yes/no option on the tag if V9 means: 'F' Prom & Haas Bin file = version 9.xF + Co Pro installed.
Then on G103 (see page in manual), Try entering 1000 in the field. About my only idea? If you do V10, you're going to need the unlock code$ if not 1000, try going lower and see where you have a cutoff of allowed -vs- not allowed. Maybe I can boot ours up later and try? HAve not have the machine up lately. would be good to warm her up.
Ohh; In the manuals, there are references to commone switch bit flags as 'reserved for future use'.... So it's possible it's simply not documented in there.

If Anyone recalls- All ears!
