I think VM was a part of the Daimler Benz takeover of GM .....anyhoo,the VM nameplate appeared over the local GM branch ,along with MTU....and they were pushing MTU boat motors where they had previously been pushing marine 92s.....knew a guy replaced two low hour 8/92tta s with MTU s ,cause the salesman told him you wouldnt be able to get 92 parts......Anyhoo,there were lots of Italian a/c diesels ,some were quite big too ,like the V8* Slanzi s....there was once a local Chrysler Valiant sedan with a 4cyl VM a/c.....
