2005 HAAS No LCD Display

Hey y'all.

I have a 2005 HAAS SL30 lathe that recently had the display go out. We replaced the whole monitor and the problem is still there. Upon further inspection, there is a display on the LCD so it is just really faint to where you can only see it by shining a flashlight directly at the screen. The keypad and everything else works as it should.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've gone so far as to replace the LCD driver and the only new thing that it has brought is on startup, the screen shows 2 flickering green boxes and then it does the same thing as stated above.

Do you have or use the screen saver on your machine? I'm wondering if it just shuts off the illumination to the LCD.

Related: check your date and time. I recently had the real time clock go out on a 2004 VF-2 and it forever thought the date was 06-26-2066 at 26:00 o'clock. What I'm wondering is if you have the screen saver turned on and the clock has lost its marbles, it may be perpetually in sleep mode.

To check the time: press Current Commands, then Page Down a few times until you see date and time.

To check the screen saver delay, press Settings, then type 100 and down arrow to get to it. Off should be Zero.

I'll have to check. As far as I know, there wasn't a screen saver or anything like that on it. If you shine a flashlight at the screen, you can see that there's stuff showing up like the servos off alarm.

Okay, I just checked mine. I never use the screen saver and was confusing it with going to sleep. Switched on the screen saver and it's indeed a moving Haas logo when it activates and the backlight stays on.

You said you replaced the whole monitor so I'm out of suggestions.

Ah ok. I'm starting to wonder if we got unlucky with the replacement we were sent and it had something wrong with it.
