Wanted to do this for quite awhile. I have two other machines that use 22J collets and the ability to use the on the EE seemed like it would come in handy.

2nd image shows the comparison to a 5C chuck.

Another comparison. I recently picked up about 45-50 22j collets with some duplicates. If you have duplicates and want to do some trading let me know.

That looks very nice. I have a Cushman 215 collet chuck for that size range, but it doesn't quite reach 2" as the 22J does.

22Js have a capacity of 2.25" (That's a 1" TPG shaft in the collet).
Advantage of the Cushman chuck is that it's a bit smaller. 215 collets are also generally cheaper. However, I've never seen a 215 emergency collet- I've aquired a number of NOS 22J emergency collets which will hopefully come in handy at some point.

They used to make 215 emergency collets but it looks like new ones are a request at Hardinge or a crapshoot from India. I don't have any, I make do with Hardinge step collets and other 5C solutions. I do have a Cushman 115 emergency collet, go figure.
