I thought this was interesting in reference to the Hanta virus Fred.
From the CDC. I do not see that how viruses being labeled one way or the other is a attack of some sort. Locations are common place labels for such things. Regarding the big stink on the Spanish Flu label it has not been universally traced back to its origins. The Corona virus has been going strong and so far the source of the jump has not been found despite the likely hood it was Wuhan plain and obvious. It is likely they know yet will never reveal it.
Who knows?
Article on Hanta virus US the story revolved around native Americans dieting from it and the efforts to find the source for the infection. They captured many standard rodents from that area and finally hunted it down.
The virus was feared because it was so deadly. No one wished it to spread to the whole country. To imply the name was intended to degrade American Natives no offense intended that has been proven.
Anyway; article here. Be glad they were on it. From CDC.
