The guy banged Marilyn Monroe,
Might have that backwards? Norma Jeanne had her ways.

:)

- guess somebody had to. Figure him for a "V" device for it?

How about Judith Exner.. the one he shared with a mobster - "laden"?

Teddy was the only one I ever met, "eyeball to eyeball" , close-up. Nasty
Piece of work when not in the public eye at his Day Job!

And Jacky, widowed, a mere glimpse across a broad lawn as she was heading out.

Georgetown, DC resident thing, both.

They are all just "people"with a different job than each of we'uns have.

Usually more MONEY, too.

But how much can one person eat, drink, or shag, anyway?

Don't enybody ANSWER that, either!

This cant be called a success in any way shape or form.
Should have never been there in the first place, but to end it like this? All those lives ended in vain.
Wonder how long before Al Qaida gets their camps set up again.

The usa gov created the whole mess. Some comments from another site:

Irrespective if the Taliban has changed or not: I am not celebrating the victory of the Taliban but the defeat of American colonialism, arrogance and geopolitical stupidity.

The Americans created weaponized islamic extremism to fight the Soviet Union initially and used the same extremists to distabilize the Middle East.

It is now China and Russia which have to bring rationality and consensus to start a new path for the entire middle east.

Cheers from France."

”The Americans created weaponized islamic extremism to fight the Soviet Union initially and used the same extremists to destabilize the Middle East.”

Exactly. More specifically, it was Jimmy Carter’s National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski who launched the project ”Political Islam” that later was to spawn the Taliban and the dregs of ISIS. In hindsight, it worked as expected from its inception in the late 1970s up to the invasion of Afghanistan in 2000 by NATO. But all the greed, corruption, arrogance, and sheer malevolent incompetence backfired eventually. The Taliban movement turned out to be genuine in its patriotism as opposed to the awful sleaze and rot of the ruling circles of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf sheikhdoms.

Now there is a serious rift and split between the world’s Sunni Islamists. Really bad news not just for the Western Zionazis — it spells utter doom for Erdogan and the Outhouse of Saud. At the same time, it should be very comforting news in Iran."

This is the only thing I agree with biden on. Get our brave men and women out of that sh*thole now. I hope our government learns the lesson from this they should have learned after vietnam, Stay out of foreign entanglements. We cannot make people who who are basically primitive aliens think like us no matter how much blood and treasure we throw at the problem. Here is a good question: Where did these cave men get their weapons from to fight us in the first place? Maybe that is where the fight should have been.

I stated that I agreed with biden on the withdrawl of our troops but he sure did bungle the withdraw siagon style.

I understood you.

You missed my point and you need to understand. 20 years, almost a hundred thousand dead, trillions have been spent but no Act of war was declared. Both WW1 & 2 had declarations of war approved. Every undeclared war since WW2 should’ve been illegal.

The idea a president (fill in the blank) can engage in a military conflict that spans decades and spends trillions without the consent of Congress is incomprehensible. What is this democracy you speak of when elected or appointed officials collet paychecks but refuse to do their jobs?

I disagree there's any other options. You're insane to think that governments follow laws. Korea was voted by the UN, so we were bound by treaty. Vietnam was only a mistake because "we don't bomb an outhouse without my say so," and then the Democrats held up the payments to the Saigon government we'd agreed by treaty. Only one vote against the 2001 AUMF was cast by Barbara Lee, the rest of both houses voted "yea." So your only beef is they didn't call it a Whiskey-Alpha-Romeo, because they voted for it 534-1.

Why not liberate the miserable inhabitants of North Korea for a change? Vaporise Kim and the rest of the nomenclature there
Why don't people learn to mind their own goddamned business for a change ? You can't control the world. Make your own place nice, let other people see it and copy if they want. Or do whatever else they want, it's not your country.

Fuck me, why is this lesson so hard to learn ?

Now we can sit back and watch as China gets stuck next.
Nope. China doesn't play that game. They go there and buy and sell and water the ketchup, they don't tell people what to do or how to do it. That's the recipe for success in this world.

What is more intriguing is why US citizens put up with this crap for so long ... it cost trillions. Guess who gets to pay that ?

Incorrect. They trained in Florida, and they didn't even have to learn to take off. Just change altitude and run the gps.

Hell of an effective intelligence department y'all got. And the Defense department, YAY ! two fucking hours warning and they couldn't find an airplane*. Now that is performance to be proud of !

*Okay, there was one F15, and he was going 500 miles an hour ! Damn ! But alas, couldn't get there in time, it's really great to know what a superb job the defense department does. Not like back when they were that idiot old war department.

Why do you people put up with this crap ? Personally, if al qaeda had hit the pentagon fair and square and took out all of them, I think they'd have done you a favor.

What the f did you think was going to happen in afghanistan, with such brilliant and capable leaders ?

You guys are missing one key point from the last 20 years of occupation in Afghanistan: the United States has not been attacked by terrorists.

Whether you believe that is related or not, it's a fact the Nine-Eleven terrorists trained in Afghanistan...and that's where future terrorists can now train again.

Wrong. Boston Marathon bombing. And lets not forget January 6 2021

I've seen NOTHING in any image that even suggests a commercial aircraft hit the pentagon. Call it the "building 7" effect.
My brother claims he watched it from another nearby building. I have no reason to suspect that he would lie.
He became almost crazy paranoid about another attack afterwards. Food and water in the car at all times and that sort which he never was never close to before.

Right EG turns out we decided to make things better building roads and educating young girls and women breaking their pattern of abuse of them.

How terrible EG that we would send a teacher to teach instead of a mortar barrage into a Taliban compound. See we want to reform them and teach them how to live.

It seems obvious that seeing how religion seems to be the major factor here that it would likely have worked better for them to be converted by the sword just as they were centuries ago. We would likely promote Atheism which would fit in with our messed up plans quite well as it would have zero positive impact. Communism has already been tried and failed already which includes atheism for free.:)

To me these Taliban are widely dominant if not accepted there. They seem to agree on one thing and that is the Opium trade. Look for the cost of it to go up right away. This will continue.

The equipment they have received will not be enough to threaten their neighbors. They likely will sell them off and get donkeys and farm animals.

“ it's not your country.” We know that Harley. We did not exactly take possession.China can handle it now and Pakistan acts like they are concerned. They have always played both sides of the street and everyone in that whole area learned to do that fighting the British.

Yeah cool ... what you are describing is, a family where the dad is an alcoholic and beats the kids, mom does smack and turns tricks to pay the rent and gas bills, the son pulls the legs off cats to watch them die, and daughter is pregnant with dad's last fling. The roof leaks like a sieve and the leach lines to the septic tank are all clogged, yard stinks like a sewage farm, got a brandy-new pickup out front tho (until the bank figures out where they really live). But they think the neighbors two blocks over aren't doin' good, so they pick up the thirty-ought-six to go tell them how ta improve their lifes.

Good idear, True. Hope you were happy to contribute 30% of your taxes for that.

Which reminds me ... plenty of people think this whole thing was a total fuckup. But you live in a democracy, not some consarned dictatorship. So how did that work out ?

Looking at you, PeteM :D

We went in to get one bad guy.
And then we thought we could change a system that has been in place a very long before the USA was conceived or thought of.
This a very long time before any of us a gleam in Dad's and Mom's eyes.
Why were so foolish....At some point it became apparent that this idea was flawed.

Now we end up with poop on our face. The right left pointed fingers will go on and be debated but that is not the problem.
"The sun never sets on the British Empire". That all good for a bit.
Would a stay have been better? Another ten years and blood lost? Fifty years?
All underneath this mess is a huge export asset with big money.

Boston Marathon bombing? You mean the federal drill that went live?

And we know you'll NEVER forget Jan. 6 because it's all you have. A protest that turned into a riot with help from undercover agitators, ANTIFA, and Nancy Pelosi's Capitol Police.

Funny how so many of those "unindicted coconspirators" are the people who committed the worst acts.

A serious tie or loss in Vietnam..
But now a supplier of much stuff used everyday in the USA.
At one point we hatted Japan so hard. Now do we buy this in goods or machine tools??
They wanted to kill our grandparents at all costs. Yet now we are okay with the deal and do it.
Hmm.

Actually, that "one guy" was already facing expulsion from the country and Pakistan would probably have forced the issue. And contrary to propaganda, Afghanistan was not a terrorist state. The 20 year adventure was a typical globalist exercise in "nation building" and they thought they would easily force the Taliban out and create another "westernized" puppet state. Anyone with even basic knowledge of the history and culture of the place could have easily predicted the outcome.
