It's great to see someone getting excited when they learn a new process. If I did not get the same thrill I would be doing something else. Congrats on the new machine, I think Mori is the best.

I love the way you can make pictures in 3D so quickly of what im talking about. What are you using? newer version of AutoCAD or something else.
Its cool... I want it...

I'm using Solidworks. I use that and Mastercam quite frequently. I understand now the issue as Carbide mentioned. Forgot you had a 1/2" endmill rather than a 5/8"
I'm just wondering if my lathe will do that? I don't think I've ever had to mill a slot on the face and if we did, it was probably just with the same size endmill as the slot. Gives me something to try next week lol.

Hi Hertz,
Most makes of controls use the same "G" codes for Polar Coordinate Interpolation. Okuma is different; it uses a function called Contour Generation and specific G codes for Circular and Linear Interpolation. To see if your control has Polar Interpolation just execute G12.1 or G112 to start PI. If an illegal "G" code alarm is raised then the control doesn't have the option. If the code executes without error, make sure you program G13.1 or G113 to cancel PI.

Regards,

Bill

Solar, modelling that in solid works and uploading a pic online is a sub 2 minute task. You would love solid works - parametric 3d modelling, its akin to machining in virtual reality, but you don't have to worry about any feeds - speeds or chatter. Whats more with just a few more clicks you can do it in solid gold or mild steel and chrome plate it with just a couple more clicks :-)
