Anilam Crusader M Issues

I just got a series 1 Bridgeport with an Anilam crusader series M control on it. I have looked through countless threads and have been trying to trace the issue for days now.

So to start, I can get the spindle to start and run fine when following the steps to enter manual mode, but the controller is a complete no-go. The screen is completely dark, the buttons make no noise (they also don’t engage the servos trying to blindly get it into auto mode). I have checked every fuse, I have pulled and cleaned all the boards and re-seated every socketed chip, I have checked the 24v power supply and it’s good. I’m at a loss.

1) The controller cabinet looks very clean. The only things I’ve noticed are the battery in the board is showing very low voltage and has visible corrosion around it, I’ve made sure it didn’t corrode through a ribbon inside the board and I cleaned the plug and pins next to it as best as I could. I have not replaced the battery yet though.

2) The power supply on the door is giving odd voltages including .5 volts for the 5 volt output, No 12v power, but has good 115v in. I’m not sure if I’m checking the outputs correctly though.

If anyone has had this issue or is good with these I would appreciate it so much

Did you get your machine running? I have anilam crusader m on a clone. I believe you need the 12v for the screen and controller. I am having screen problems with mine, the horizontal hold is not working, been going for years but would usually stabilize after an hour or so. I will have the cabinet open next week hoping to fix the screen so i can check voltages if you are still working on yours

Gentlemen,
There is a gentleman in or around North Canton Ohio, John Klingaman, that was the local Anilam rep/repair guy. If you can find him I am sure he can help. I will try to find his contact info as well.

Yeah you definitely need 12V for the controls to come on. Do you have the electrical diagrams? I could take a picture of mine and send them to you if you dont.
